This is a question worth asking and the answer is the most poignant and effective one I have heard yet. It's so simple a democrat can understand it. Is Mitt Romney responsible for Obamacare and the current state of the Massachusetts Health Care system? http://bit.ly/dK4EES

Who Deserves to be the Republican Nominee for President in 2012? This question is not who can or can’t win, but Who has done more in the last 4 years for the movement?

Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty constitutional conservative activist web site. Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!! (saves wear and tear on my zot button - bitterly clinging redneck, Jim) Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!! Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic...
  • The EPA’s new ozone regulation will damage the US economy for no reason

There was much talk about the EPA's recent declaration of CO2 as a pollutant, and rightfully so. However, there is something else the EPA is regulating which is also very harmful to the US economy: ozone levels. Not only do they currently regulate ozone levels, but they are about to tighten their regulations on them. Many areas in the US are projected to already be in violation as soon as the new regulations are in place. The current limit on ozone level is 75 ppb (yes that's parts per BILLION), which was set in 2008 by the Bush administration....

Recent unsettling revelations would indicate that, more and more, the US Chamber of Commerce is working for foreign nationals and corporations. Big business has been sending American jobs to other nations for a long time. Our current Congress has tried several measures to stop the bleeding and to bring some of those jobs back to Americans.

Thanks to the Obama economic failure, this would be a Republican surge year regardless. In most races across the country, the scorned Independents broke for republicans giving them the margin of victory. Haley and Toomey I'll credit to the Tea Party. Miller is still up in the air. Past that, looking at the other big Tea Party races: Rubio won not because of the Tea Party but thanks to the selfishness of Charlie Crist splitting the dem vote. Angle lost to the most unpopular dem senator in the nation, a man who COULDN'T win. Paladino was a humiliating disaster. Rove...
  • Voting (or not) for upholding the Constitution (vanity ZOT thread)

I will be staying at home tomorrow, I will not be voting. There, I've said it. I've done my research, and in my district there is nobody who I can stomach voting for. This time the lesser of two evils will not be getting my vote; the lesser of two evils is still an EVIL. I've read manifestos, written letters, been humiliated, ignored and belittled by fellow "conservatives", but nobody that I can possibly vote for has the b**ls to even whisper that our Dear Leader ought to follow the Constitution and prove his eligibility. This is no small matter,...

A character like Christine O'Donnell presents a unique problem for a humorist. Few elaborations are called for since the caricature is self-embodied. All that is needed is a dead-pan Jack Benny look. You know, the one where he just stares blankly at the audience without saying a word and eventually someone titters and before you know it the whole place is in hysterics? Her very existence as a major party candidate for US Senate is the kind of comedy which arrives ready-written and would only be spoiled by embellishment. I mean, what can you add to rabidantimasturbationtarianism, rats with fully-functioning...
  • EPA to drain $1 trillion from economy--Obama's new ozone policy is full of holes (Another outrage)

    The Washington Times ^ | October 7, 2010 | Editorial
The zealots at the Environmental Protection Agency are poised to suck a trillion dollars and 7 million jobs out of the economy with an unnecessary and destructive change to pollution rules. Less than two years ago, the EPA set a ground-level ozone standard of 75 parts per billion (ppb), but Obama administration officials are looking to impose an even lower standard of 60 ppb by fiat. That seemingly small change will have sweeping effects throughout the economy. Ozone is created when harmful emissions from cars and factories react with sunlight to create one of the building blocks of smog. Reasonable...

Genuine conservatives would have restrained, as best they could, Democratic proposals to cure what ails us, for genuine conservatives are of course genuinely wary of too much change, too fast. But they would not have made a political game of uniform obstructionism; they would not have toyed with, of all things, unemployment benefits; and they most decidedly would not be advocating trillions in extended tax cuts while in the grips of such looming debt.

Obama isn't my President. ...The statement isn't offensive because the man in charge happened to be from my political party, but it offends me as an American. To disagree or even hate a President is one thing, but to declare that he isn't your President is something else entirely.... Obama is a Kenyan!/Where's the Birth Certificate? ...Initially I was open to the suggestion that Obama wasn't a natural born citizen and thus wasn't eligible for the Presidency, but as time went on I became less and less impressed with Birthers and their arguments.... Conservatives should treat Birthers for what they...

They’re still around. Being funded in Afghanistan by the State Department (that would be President Obama’s State Department), as a matter of fact. After private Blackwater contractors opened fire in Iraq and killed 14 civilians in September 2007, Obama jumped on it. He went so far as to say his fixes for Blackwater specifically were the the toughest reforms of any Presidential candidate.

Working citizens will be forced to pay up to 80% of their salary to the government (Fox News). No way Americans will stand for this, hence the reason Tea Party candidates are winning in primaries across the nation. You may remember that Washington pledged $900m for the Palestinians at a donors conference in 2009.

I know there is a lot of speculation on what will happen in the next few years, but I would really like to know if anyone has a real good sense of what will be going on in a few years. I would like to be prepared, but don't want to over prepare. Is there a real good sense of what is coming in the next few years? I have the ammunition I need, but is it really necessary to stockpile food. Just curious as to what other here are doing. Thanks

Three British scientists shocked the world when they revealed on May 16th, 1985 - 25 years ago - that aerosol chemicals, among other factors, had torn a hole in the ozone layer over the South Pole. Today, the ozone hole - actually a region of thinned ozone, not actually a pure hole - doesn't make headlines like it used to. The size of the hole has stabilized, thanks to decades of aerosol-banning legislation. But, scientists warn, some danger still remains. First, the good news: Since the 1989 Montreal Protocol banned the use of ozone-depleting chemicals worldwide, the ozone hole has...
