About a year out of the 2016 Iowa caucuses, Governor Palin’s taking part in the Iowa Freedom Summit hosted by Congressman Steve King and Citizens United. The event was announced a few weeks back and reported by Politico: Iowa Rep. Steve King, the GOP lawmaker well-known for his deeply conservative position on immigration, is hosting a January summit for possible 2016 hopefuls, according to a new report from the Des Moines Register. The event, dubbed the Iowa Freedom Summit, is slated for Jan. 24 in Des Moines, and three likely Republican presidential hopefuls — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former...

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: Do you have a favorite candidate for 2016? SARAH PALIN: No, not yet. VAN SUSTEREN: Nothing? Who is sort of your -- who is at the top of your list? Are you considering running? PALIN: Who is at the top of my list. VAN SUSTEREN: Let me back up to my other question. PALIN: No, question at a time. I appreciate those who have fought for America, like Ted Cruz, like Rand Paul. You know though, it doesn't have to be someone who has a title today, someone in office today. In fact, some would say we...

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she thinks it's good that Gov. Chris Christie won another term in mostly Democratic New Jersey. But the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate stops short of embracing Christie as a potential GOP presidential candidate in 2016, saying "I would never put my faith and hope in any one politician."

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Sarah Palin may be once again dreaming of the White House and a run for the presidency in 2016. After a long absence from the political arena, Palin appears to be strategically increasing her appearances and speeches while also taking solid aim at President Obama. This has led many political experts to conclude that she is aiming to enter the 2016 presidential race, or at least is trying to test the waters for a potential run. The rumors kicked up a bit this week when a spokesman for the Rev. Billy Graham announced that Sarah Palin will be a guest...

When asked about the rift between Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) on FOX News this morning, Sarah Palin said she is on "Team Rand." Palin said, "he gets the whole notion of 'Don’t Tread on Me' government, whereas Chris Christie is for big government."

Jonah Goldberg, with an unerring eye toward focusing on what really matters, poses the question, what is so great about Hillary Clinton that makes her the obvious Democratic nominee in 2016 and the inevitable next president of the United States? I would add another question. What makes Ms. Clinton so much better than another well known female politician, namely Sarah Palin? Goldberg points out that Ms. Clinton doesn't really have any accomplishments to point to during her long career, as lawyer, first lady, senator, and secretary of state. She hasn't actually said anything of interest, except perhaps the ghoulish dismissal...

Sarah Palin, former Alaska Governor, Tea Party inspiration and FOX News contributor leads our CHQ Republican presidential straw poll, as she has for the past several weeks. No doubt some will attribute Palin’s lead to her active community of online supporters – and there is no doubt that Governor Palin’s online network gives her an advantage in any net-based vote. But that, in our opinion, is not why the feisty Alaskan continues to lead in our poll. Plenty of the other potential Republican presidential candidates have active online communities. What many of the other candidates lack – even some of...

As video becomes available, we’ll be adding them to this thread throughout the day. Governor Palin made her return to Fox this morning. She was very comfortable — especially when she was able to do what she loved which is talking about smaller government and solutions to putting our country back on the right track. My personal favorite segment was when Senator Cruz dropped in. And of course when she learned of CBS’s Elizabeth Palmer comparing the tea party to Iran’s presidential candidates. Governor Palin accurately described Palmer as putting “the ‘BS’ in CBS.”

Ms. Palin became a national celebrity after her unsuccessful 2008 vice presidential turned into a media career as a paid Fox News contributor from January 2010 to January of this year. The Wall Street Journal reported in January that Ms. Palin wouldn't be renewing her contract with the cable news networking, citing a person familiar with the matter. "I've had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining Fox News as a contributor," Mr. Ailes said Thursday. "I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to...

Sarah Palin was attacked mercilessly for her claims that the Obamacare legislation would lead to death panels — where bureaucrats would make treatment decisions for patients or ration their expensive medical care. Since her warning salvo was fired, numerous examples have come up involving Obamacare rationing medical care or putting in cost containments that would lead to rationed care or prohibit patients from spending more of their own money on lifesaving medical treatment or wanted care. Now, Jacqueline Halbig, principal at Sovereign Global Solutions and former senior policy adviser for the Dept. of Health and Human Services, has a guest...

Governor Sarah Palin will headline a dinner recalling the life and painful euthanasia death of Terri Schiavo, who was subjected to two weeks of starvation and dehydration by a husband who no longer wanted to care of her. Though the events surrounding her death were very difficult for Terri and her family, the foundation that bears her name is turning a negative into a positive. The national controversy that erupted over the court-ordered decision that ended Terri Schiavo’s life by removing her feeding tube in 2005 has been channeled into a positive effort of awareness, education and advocacy through the...

Demographics are destiny. Nothing else makes history. When the changes ahead are shipped into denial is when chaos and disaster ensue. And the potential disasters America faces today do not come from global warming, nuclear weapons, the Russians, the hippies or the rednecks. They come from the economic division of America between the red states, which are rising in capital and prosperity, and the left and right coasts, which are receding in economic power. Demographer Joel Kotkin well outlines the transition in a Wall Street Journal essay yesterday title, “America’s Red State Growth Corridors.” “In the wake of the 2012...

D.C.: Cut the Drama. Do Your Job. Americans are sick and tired of yet another ginned-up crisis. D.C. needs to grow up, get to work, and live within its means. The real economic Armageddon looming before us is our runaway debt, not the sequester, which the President advocated for and signed into law and is now running around denouncing because he never had any genuine intention of reining in his reckless spending. Remember that this sequestration deal came about because of the long debt ceiling standoff in the summer of 2011. It wasn’t the ideal outcome for anyone, but it...

Even as she fades from the national spotlight, the former vice-presidential contender gets plenty of love on the Internet. I'm going to let you in on a little journalism secret. Time was, political reporters knew that any post about Sarah from Alaska was any easy way to get eyeballs. (In one week in May 2010, I wrote three separate items under the rubric "Sarah Palin Real-Estate Watch." All were well-read.) Nowadays, the magic is gone. There's no serious talk of Palin 2016. There are no more reality TV shows. Her endorsement mojo has evaporated, and the term "Mama Grizzly" seldom...

Allahpundit at Hot Air is relating what he thinks may be a nightmare scenario for 2016, the presidential candidacy of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the brother of one former president and the son of another. It just smacks too much of dynastic politics. This is especially true if Bush wound up running against Hillary Clinton, the wife of a former president, former senator and soon to be former secretary of state. There is an alternative, however

One good thing about President Obama’s re-election: It seems to have prompted some sober thinking by Republican Party leaders and allies. Oh sure, there’s been some loose talk of secession, but mostly what you’ve found is top GOP leaders trying to figure out how to broaden the GOP’s appeal and shed its reputation for anti-intellectualism while staying true to their conservative values. This is a good thing. One sure way for Republicans to blow it: If Sarah Palin runs for president. You might’ve thought Palin’s political career pretty much ended when she decided not to run for president against a...

Sarah Palin urged her supporters in a Facebook message on Wednesday not to “lose heart” now that President Barack Obama has defeated Mitt Romney, but she warned the president’s “socialist policies” will hurt the middle class. “America, don’t lose heart. This election is not an ‘Obama mandate,’ nor is it a rejection of conservatism,” wrote Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee. “As I personally have witnessed, once a bell is rung by a biased media, it’s impossible to un-ring it. Ironically, it’s Obama’s socialist policies that will destroy America’s working class as he outsources opportunities.” She continued: “Hang in...

The muted GOP reaction to Sarah Palin’s departure from the Republican presidential field Wednesday suggests the party had moved on months ago. Not so for the thriving cottage industry that grew at her feet, and whose future is now in danger. Palin-lovers, Palin-haters, a half-dozen publishing houses, and elements of the mainstream media who tracked her plans long after the Republican campaign bypassed her suddenly face a future without their entertaining, unpredictable, and now scarcely-relevant subject. Palin’s circle of online admirers greeted her announcement with shock and dismay. The camp who saw her as a nascent American Mussolini, with shock...

The response to Sarah Palin's surprise resignation last Friday clearly reveals the limitations of the American political class, right, left, or what have you. There's an old academic joke, probably apocryphal, about Count Metternich, Austria's foreign minister during the Napoleonic era. While attending the Congress of Vienna, Metternich is sleeping off a banquet when one of his aides bursts in at three in the morning. "Your excellency! Count Nesselrode, the Russian ambassador, just died." Metternich jerks awake. "Died, you say? What a terrible thing! I was speaking to him only tonight... Uhh... send a message to the Tsar -- Austria...
