A group that wants to recall the mayor needs to try again, after more than half the signatures on the recall petition were declared invalid, an official said on Tuesday. The group of activists pushing for the recall of Ferguson Mayor James Knowles III submitted 1,008 valid signatures - 806 short of the 1,814 needed to get a recall on a city ballot. The Bloomington city attorney is pursuing criminal charges against the organizers of a protest inside the Mall of America after police shut down stores for about two hours during the demonstration. City Attorney Sandra Johnson tells WCCO-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1JNVUll) that mall officials are figuring out how much money stores lost on Saturday. Demonstrators chanting, "Black lives matter," converged in the Mall of America rotunda Saturday as part of a protest of police brutality that caused at least part of the mall to shut down on a busy day for holiday shoppers. A grand jury has reached a decision on whether to indict Darren Wilson, the white Ferguson, Mo. police officer whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager sparked days of turbulent protests, sources close to the process said.
