Mississauga, Ont., teen strangled in 2007 after argument over hijab. The father and brother of Aqsa Parvez have pleaded guilty to killing the Mississauga, Ont., teenager. Muhammad Parvez, 60, and his son, Waqas, 29, entered pleas of guilty to second-degree murder ... Her death prompted debate over the wearing of the hijab. Friends of the teen say she had balked at wearing traditional Muslim clothing and she had been arguing with her father over her appearance.

The website of a New York TV network whose aim is to improve American perceptions of Islam was shut down this morning, two days after its founder admitted to the beheading of his wife. And while that irony might bring a momentary smile, another attempt to conceal the facts behind an honor killing right here in America should stir nothing short of outrage. Muzzammil Hassan, CEO of Bridges TV, whose motto is "connecting people through understanding," apparently didn't think Thursday's honor killing -- and make no mistake about what this was -- at the station might somehow blur that message....

A day they expected to include waves of grief ebbed back into bitterness and anger for the friends and peers of Aqsa Parvez as they realized they'd been excluded from her funeral. "They tricked us," said Konnor Williams, 16, who had known Parvez for three years. "I'm very upset and very angry right now. I feel cheated out of my friend's funeral. It's just not right."
