The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) internal process for firearms-related background checks is gearing up for a change. A secondary system, known as the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), will be implemented in conjunction with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), National Public Radio (NPR) reported. A Reason investigation reveals that the coffee giant's new cold drink lids use more plastic than the old straw/lid combo. Right now, Starbucks patrons are topping most of their cold drinks with either 3.23 grams or 3.55 grams of plastic product, depending on whether they pair their lid with a small or large straw. A man has reportedly been injured in a knife attack by multiple people in broad daylight on a busy Manhattan street. The incident was reported at 1.30pm on Thursday in Greenwich Village. A 911 caller told police that several suspects were involved during the attack outside 11 W 14th Street. The suspects reportedly fled in a white Mercedes-Benz with New York license plates.
