Sen. Recently, I embarked on a journey to become more involved in my community. I enrolled in the Houston Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy as a means to interact with community and business leaders and network with my neighbors. Selfishly, I hoped that the program would assist in my own professional development, allowing me to build a portfolio of perspective clients for a growing legal practice. Instead, I gained much more than I could have imagined. I learned valuable insight into the daily operations of the Houston Police Department and the courageous and selfless men and women behind the badge. During...

We had Rasohomon the movie in which the same scene is presented several different ways depending on the point of view of the performers. And now we have the political version of Rashomon, in the form of the the Department of Justice Inspector General report, according to the CNN's overly imaginative Chris Cillizza, which was highly critical of former FBI Director James Comey. For Cillizza the facts clearly stated in the IG report really depends on the political viewpoint of whoever is reading it. Let us now join Chris Chillizza's August 29 production of Rashomon political theater, "The new James Comey report proves whatever...

This past weekend the country celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. It was, for those too young to recall, the first time any nation put humans on an alien world. It was an amazing feat of engineering, ingenuity, and courage. And it happened just eight years and 56 days after President John F. Kennedy had issued a challenge to the nation to do it. From a presidential speech to footprints on the moon in eight years and a couple months! That same president also had a plan to “reform” K-12 public education, as has every single...

The United States is the freest, wealthiest, most tolerant society the world has ever known. Even today’s poor live lives undreamed of by royalty less than a century ago. Yet in what seems like a major disconnect from this reality, we have major politicians calling for a transformation of society. Why is this? Well, other than pandering for votes and power, which is a large part of it, there is another more basic and more dangerous process at work. And that is success breeds failure. This is a common and accurate theme in management thinking. Success breeds complacency. Success can...

As I have pointed out in previous articles, fake news in the mainstream media has become a serious issue. Every liberal news platform goes out of their way to bash Trump and his policies. No matter how beneficial the policy is for America, you can count on the media to slam the policy. Now, surprisingly, CNN panel blasts Time for putting out Fake News.. (IRONY) […] Read MORE - https://westernfreepress.com/cnn-panel-time-magazine-fake-news-cover/

I don’t think Trump knows all that much about the Brotherhood’s history, tactics or deceptive, two-pronged strategy of using both terror and peaceful political warfare against the enemies of Allah. He was simply responding to the global rise in terrorism that was coinciding with a mass population shift from the Islamic world into the Western democracies. Western Europe, which has seen the most Muslim migration over the past couple of decades, has experienced the most terror attacks, sexual assaults on women and clamp-downs on the free speech of non-Muslims. Trump saw that and, rightly, wanted to stop it from coming...

An increasing number of jihadists active in Syria are fearing for their lives. The result: they want to go back to the Western countries where most of them were born and raised. It must be a major disappointment for many extremist European Muslims who have traveled to Syria in recent years, hoping that they could live in their own version of heaven. Meaning: a horrific, brutal empire in which Islamist extremists can do whatever they please, like raping non-Muslim women, throwing gays from rooftops, and taking non-Muslims as slaves. For a few years, these extremists got what they had dreamed...

Former Diablo Valley College professor of philosophy Eric Clanton was arrested Wednesday for bludgeoning three people in the head with a hardened steel U-shaped bike lock at a “free speech” rally in Berkeley last month. Clanton was booked into Berkeley Jail on three felony counts of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon that isn’t a firearm and assault causing great bodily injury, and a misdemeanor charge for wearing a mask to evade identification during the alleged attack. His bail is set at $200,000.
