ANCHORAGE – Sen. Lisa Murkowski is running for reelection in 2016 to seek a third full term as Alaska’s senior senator. She made the official announcement at the Williwaw restaurant in downtown Anchorage Friday. “We’ve got a year in front of us, and I don’t take anything for granted,” Murkowski said. Liberals are having conniption fits because President Bush is approaching his second term as if he were actually elected. But conservatives in Congress may be growing bolder, too, if the just-passed spending bill is any indication. I'm not just referring to their omnibus appropriations bill in which they capped the growth in domestic spending for 2005 at one percent, though that's encouraging.
