The Never Trump Lincoln Project, led by the likes of George Conway, Steve Schmidt, and Rick Wilson, has been flagged by Twitter for spreading “manipulated media” over its presentation of a portion of President Trump’s Salute to America July 4 speech. “What’s wrong with the President?” the Lincoln Project tweeted alongside a video that attempted to make it sound as if Trump said operation Desert Storm took place in Vietnam:

NeverTrumper and “Republican political strategist” Rick Wilson made a sorry attempt to play gotcha over the coronavirus-induced market dip March 9, by sharing a tweet the same day that appeared to be from President Donald Trump in 2015. The tweet he shared called for the punishment of a sitting president if the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell “more than 1000 ‘points’ in a Single Day” (the tweet called it the “Dow Joans”). Wilson commented: “I agree, Mr. President.” The problem? Wilson agreed with a fact-checked “fake” tweet.

Key players in GOP’s anti-Trump movement are preparing to launch an independent presidential campaign for Evan McMullin — a CIA veteran and the chief policy director of the House Republican conference — sources close to the effort told BuzzFeed News. The FBI released 34 pages of notes, known as “302s,” of its 2016 and 2017 interviews with Bruce Ohr, the DOJ official who met with the British dossier author Christopher Steele and opposition research firm Fusion GPS’s Glen Simpson.
