If it seems like the number of complaints from your female friends about not being able to find a man is growing, we may finally know why. Somewhere between 1979 and 2008, Americans decided it was much less worth it to get hitched: the share of 25- to 39-year-old women who were currently married fell 10 percent among those with college degrees, 15 percent for those with some college, and a full 20 percent for women with a high-school education or less. This great American marriage decline—a drop from 72 percent of U.S. adults being wed in 1960 to half...

Will they voluntarily do it? No. We...

1. Hunting Hunting was a hugely important skill for much of human history, but in light of the rise of cheap and readily available factory-farmed meat, hunting’s relationship to the food we actually eat has disappeared for the overwhelming majority of the population. If you grew up in a rural area, there’s a good chance you learned to shoot game at some point, but as much as many contemporary guys fantasize about being able to kill a wild animal and eat it (Mark Zuckerberg, anyone?), particularly if you live in a big city, there’s really not much real-world benefit to...

Zoë Saldana and her husband are raising their three boys in a gender-neutral household with things like 'female and male toys' in order to discourage their kids from buying into gender stereotypes. The Guardian's of the Galaxy actress, 40, opened up about what exactly it means to create a gender-neutral household when speaking to US Weekly this week. But she admitted it has its challenges when raising young boys. 'I'm always gonna be honest and that is always the best way to welcome healthy and truthful discourse, especially around parenthood. … [The twins] made a comment two weeks ago like,...

Democrat Illinois state Rep. Dianne Pappas believes that the answer to preventing abortions is that men should be castrated and charged to store their sperm. Pappas had met with pro-life critics of the Reproductive Health Act, one of whom recounted the meeting and her statements on the Wayne Township Republican website. “We tried to keep politics out of this equation, as we were here to represent the parish members for Pro-Life. I personally, introduced myself as a business owner, who is a licensed insurance agent. Two minutes into the discussion, she revealed her views on the topic and how we...

Las Vegas Police say they've arrested a 25-year-old Playboy model in connection with the death of a 71-year-old doctor whose body was discovered inside the trunk of an abandoned car earlier this month. Kelsey Nichole Turner, 25, was arrested in Stockton, California on March 21 by detectives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and members of a Stockton FBI task force, a press release from the department said. (CNN)A Texas lawmaker has proposed a bill that would fine a man $100 each time he masturbates. The bill also imposes a 24-hour waiting period if a guy wants a colonoscopy or a vasectomy, or if he's in the market for some Viagra. Rep. Jessica Farrar, a Democrat, knows her bill isn't going to get very far. But she proposed it last week to make a point and give male lawmakers a taste of their own medicine. Farrar has long been an advocate of women's health in a state that has made it extremely difficult for women to get abortions....

In last year’s Midterm race for seats in the United States House of Representatives, Anti-GamerGate personality and Revolution 60 developer Brianna Wu ran as a Democratic candidate in the primary election for Massachuset’s 8th Congressional District. Despite her political inexperience, Wu garnered 22.9% of the district’s vote (16,878 votes out of a total of 73,582), but ultimately lost the election to her incumbent opponent, Stephen Lynch. As the 2020 United States House of Representatives elections rapidly approach, Wu has once again announced her candidacy, which will feature a heavy emphasis on government regulation concerning internet relations. On March 6th, Wu...

Graduating from Yale as a conservative reminded me of those scenes in films where someone speeds away from an explosion and barely avoids certain death. But no matter how bad it seemed in New Haven a few years ago, it just keeps getting worse. “I’m watching you, white boy.” That’s one of the final lines in a recent racially charged op-ed by Isis Davis-Marks published in the Yale Daily News. Davis-Marks calls for students to try to ruin the reputations of white male Yalies by collecting political opposition research at college parties and spreading unsubstantiated gossip and allegations as widely...

“Oh, God, another Asian girl/white boy couple,” I groan, dropping my fiancé’s hand. He hates it when I do this. So do I, really. I know it’s unkind and self-loathing, but every time I see another couple of our racial makeup, a little part of me sinks. We live in San Francisco, so this dip is as common as the hills. In these moments, I wish we were anything else ― that he were my gay best friend or we were startup co-founders, that he were Asian and I were white, that we were exquisitely ambiguous races, or that I...

The American Psychological Association has, in its words, issued “its first-ever guidelines for practice with men and boys.” These guidelines “draw on more than 40 years of research showing that traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage.” Three observations: 1) The last thing American males need today is less masculinity. If you need proof, ask women who are looking for a husband whether the men they date exhibit too much masculinity, too little masculinity, or just the right amount. I have talked to hundreds of women on my radio show (every week...

P&G Brand Director Pankaj Bhalla tells Ad Age its goal was to provoke conversation, so Gillette no doubt expected polarization. And this is, after all, an era when brands increasingly take a stand on social issues, as Nike did with a ballsy campaign that sided with Colin Kaepernick on the issue of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. But there's one glaring difference between Nike and Gillette: Nike's primary customers are young urban millennials who support brands that stand up for causes and tend to sympathize with Kaepernick's protest. Many of the customers for Gillette, a 117-year-old brand, are...

If it feels like the US has become increasingly divided along race, gender, and other identity lines — it's because it has. A report released by the Haas Institute at the University of California-Berkeley last week found that the US has become less inclusive -- in other words, less welcoming to women, minority groups and people with disabilities -- compared to the rest of the world since 2016. . . . .Meanwhile, the five least inclusive states have all enacted anti-Sharia laws, an indicator that the Haas Institute used to predict discrimination against all religious minorities.

The University of Missouri has claimed that a male asking a female out on a date could be sexual harassment – if she is smaller than him. Mizzou officials made the claim as doctoral student challenged them in a lawsuit surrounding his suspension in 2016 for the romantic proposal to his student dance instructor Annalise Breaux. The college claimed that posing the question could violate Title IX, which serves to prohibit sexual discrimination on any federally funded education program, after Jeremy Rowles sued them for racial and sexual discrimination.

VANCOUVER — As the famous Village People song declares, “Every man wants to be a macho macho man / To have the kind of body, always in demand.” But are “macho macho” mindsets becoming a thing of the past? A new study finds that male millennials are drifting away from stereotypical masculine values. The research, led by the University of British Columbia, showed that younger men tend to value selflessness, social engagement, and health over traditional male ideals like physical strength and autonomy. Of course, physique and independence were still prominent values for the 630 Canadian men aged 15 to...

It’s midterm season on mainstream television, so if talking politics is a must for your mid-morning routine, switch the channel over to Ellen. Lately, all her lefty friends have been making appearances to plug for the Democrat ticket. Viewers who tuned in on Thursday received a real treat. The always-unhinged progressive femmebot Chelsea Handler hit the famous off-white couches to talk about the impending apocalypse should Dems lose power during the midterm elections. Always the pessimist, Handler described the current political landscape as “upsetting” and “depressing.” This is of course because many people in the U.S. might be re-thinking the...
