Two people were arrested at the Confederate memorial on the S.C. Statehouse grounds Saturday morning. Authorities say they were taking the Confederate battle flag down from the flagpole. According to a report by the SC Department of Public Safety officers who were monitoring the flag notified a Bureau of Protective Services officer that a woman was climbing the flagpole about 6:15 a.m. The officer found the woman on the flagpole in climbing gear.
