If you didn't see it, the interview's up online. Please help us introduce Elizabeth to even more people -- take a look and share it with your friends: http://elizabethwarren.com/elizabeth-on-hardball Thanks, Alethea Harney Press Secretary Elizabeth for MA
  • Elizabeth Warren's 'Native American' claims: if a Republican, the media would call her a racist

Imagine if a Republican candidate claimed, confidently, that she was part Native American. Imagine if she had actually used that identity to have herself listed as a minority at Harvard, qualifying her for special treatment and celebration as proof of how diverse and progressive her department is. Imagine if, many years later, it turned out that her claims to Native heritage were dubious and, when pressed for proof, she offered her “high cheekbones.” Oh, and she once contributed a recipe to a Native American cookbook called “Pow Wow Chow” (that may even have been plagiarised).

PROVIDENCE — Elizabeth Warren sought to put U.S. Sen. Scott Brown on defense today, attempting to tie him to former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney and the Republican presidential nominee’s conservative values at a progressive rally where she was warmly welcomed. “Now if you have any doubt about where the Romney-Brown Republicans stand just consider this: the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, has said he would repeal all financial reform,” she said. “The Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, said corporations are people. No Mitt, corporations are not people. ... Learn the difference.” ... Warren’s assault against Romney — who shares a chief...

If you love Daily Kos, Van Jones and Keith Ellison, you’ll love Elizabeth Warren. If you love public employee unions running the state, you’ll love Elizabeth Warren. If you loved the Wisconsin Recall, you’ll love Elizabeth Warren. The big union and Hollywood money and progressive media machine are going all in for Warren. It’s where they are making their stand (and so are we at LI for just that reason). Politico has put together a montage of Netroots attendees lauding Warren, including this comment from Daily Kos publisher Markos Moulitsas: “Elizabeth Warren is probably the number one project of the...

Election 2012: The truth is catching up with Elizabeth "Speaks With Forked Tongue" Warren, the lily-white Harvard leftist who falsely ID'd herself as a Cherokee "woman of color." Teepee Of Lies Professor Paleface's tall tale is crumbling, as the Washington Post and other national media weigh in at last on the mushrooming scandal. Warren is the Democrat running against GOP Sen. Scott Brown to take back Ted Kennedy's old seat. A close Obama aide, she opened his Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, while portraying herself as a straight-shooting populist. Her dissembling over the past five weeks, when the racial-preference scandal first...

Elizabeth Warren insists: I would be Massachusetts’ first Native American senatorBy Alex Pappas - The Daily Caller | The Daily Caller – 19 hrs ago Democratic Massachusetts U.S. Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren isn’t backing down from her claims of Native American heritage, telling a Fox television affiliate in Boston that she would be the state’s first senator with Indian blood if she were to defeat Republican Sen. Scott Brown in November. Asked by FOX 25′s Sharman Sacchetti on Friday if she would be Massachusetts’ first Native American senator, Warren responded: “I would be their first senator — so far as...

Dogged by weeks of questions about whether her claims of Native American heritage helped advance her career, Elizabeth Warren now faces skepticism from some of Boston’s black ministers whose appearance with Scott Brown just after his 2010 election to US Senate helped shape Brown’s image as a different breed of Republican. “It will take more than an impromptu endorsement by Governor Patrick to make an intellectually compelling case why Elizabeth Warren deserves to be the next senator,” said the Rev. Eugene F. Rivers III, referring to the state’s governor, Deval Patrick, who is black. Rivers said he will ask Warren...

Elizabeth Warren fessed up last week and admitted telling Harvard Law School officials she was a Native American. Actually, it wasn’t quite a fess up – because she admitted only what she had to and didn’t apologize for taking weeks to answer the question. She also didn’t put the problem to rest. In fact, her announcement was provocative rather than reassuring because it was oddly cavalier, suggesting she sees the whole controversy as no big deal. And her words were so surgically prepared, they seemed more tactically designed to make the press go away than help voters assess the situation....

Friend, I'm honored to receive Governor Deval Patrick's endorsement today. For the past six years, Governor Patrick has led Massachusetts with a strong belief in the importance of social justice, generational responsibility, and the politics of conviction, not convenience.I'm looking forward to working with Governor Patrick to level the playing field for middle class families and to give working people across the Commonwealth a fair shot at success. Obama senior adviser David Axelrod was met with protests from Romney supporters at a press event in Massachusetts today. A frustrated Axelrod, who was shouted down, tells the protesters "they can't handle the truth." After his brief remarks, Axelrod asked for questions from the press but was met with more banter from Romney protesters with slogans like "where are the jobs?" "You can't handle the truth, my friends. That's the problem. If you can handle the truth, then you quiet down," Axelrod said.

House Dem: Warren response on heritage 'like water torture'By Cameron Joseph - 05/31/12 06:05 PM ET Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren (D) has badly botched questions surrounding her Native American heritage and the issue is damaging her campaign, Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) told The Hill. "There has to be an answer for this at some point, something that's full and comprehensive and has some closure to it as opposed to the way it's been dragged out — like water torture," Lynch said late Thursday afternoon. Asked if Warren and her campaign should put out all the information to put the...

SPRINGFIELD — Fearing a costly and potentially damaging primary, the Democratic establishment at yesterday’s convention went all in for Elizabeth Warren — warts and all — as party leaders muscled out her longshot rival, allowing the embattled candidate to focus on Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Scott Brown. She spent the week leading up to the loyalist gathering trying to clear up the scandal. She fessed up to telling Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania about her tribal roots when she had originally said she didn’t know how they found out. She also once again defended her heritage, telling supporters she...

Results are trickling in. I’m having trouble finding any webpages with official results as of this moment, but the Twittersphere has reported that Elizabeth Warren received 95.77% of the vote. If this is confirmed, Warren will have successfully secured the Democratic nomination and won’t be forced into a primary battle. Official results to come as soon as they are available. WAJ UPDATE: It’s official, the delegates have deprived voters of a choice for the first time in history, and handed the nomination to Warren.

As Massachusetts Democrats meet at their nominating convention today, some members of the Cherokee Nation are stepping up a campaign to get answers about candidate Elizabeth Warren’s claims of tribal ancestry – a sideshow controversy that has nevertheless begun to wobble one of the most closely-watched Senate campaigns in the country. This week, Indian reporters say they were snubbed by Warren’s campaign as they sought clarification on why Ms. Warren was listed as a minority Native faculty by Harvard in the 1990s, even though she has no evidence to back that claim and apparently never sought out other Native Americans...

A recently discovered video shows Elizabeth Warren telling another tall tale about her family. The day after she announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate, Democrat Elizabeth Warren told the convocation at the University of Massachusetts-Boston: "My grandmother drove a wagon in the land rush to settle territory out west. It was 1889, she was 15 years old…She lived to be 94, to see her youngest grandchild--that's me--graduate from college…". The only problem with this story is that it’s not true. Warren's maternal grandmother died in 1969, the year before Warren graduated from college, and her paternal grandmother was only...

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren says she didn't reveal until this week that she told past employers about her Native American ancestry because she needed more time to recall actions and events of years ago. In an interview on Friday with The Associated Press, Warren sought to address questions raised about her heritage, which has not been documented. She also explained why she had not revealed that she told Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania of her heritage. The Harvard Law School professor said she and her brothers were told as children their parents were...
