"We see great progress in our operations," Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, Multinational Force Iraq spokesman, said at a news conference in Baghdad. But one element of concern casts a shadow over that progress: Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi still has 15 days to try and derail the democratic process in Iraq, Lynch said. This mission is becoming an increasing struggle for the terrorist leader, however, the general...

Secure our US Borders, Pro-America, Pro-Minuteman, Pro-Law Enforcement and Pro-Border Patrol Rally Dear Central Texan Freepers, As you know the Federal government is ignoring their duty in the Constitution to protect the borders of the United States. The States don't seem to do much better. A few months ago some people organized a group of concerned citizens named the Minutemen and they conducted a Border Watch in Arizona. This shined the light upon a very serious problem of how many illegals slip across the border every night. We heard how the border citizens were able to get their 1st nights'...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - An animal rights activist who dodged federal authorities for years was moved to a more secure cell after he was sent what might be an escape plan in the mail, authorities said Tuesday. Sheriff's deputies said they intercepted a drawing of a courtroom marked "escape route" in Peter Daniel Young's mail July 6. They moved him from a medium security dormitory to the Dane County Jail the same day, sheriff's spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said. The drawing was vague and didn't seem to represent any specific courtroom, Schaffer said, but "it was seen as a possible security...

Apple's Dashboard Hacked May 9, 2005 1:50PM What makes the issue particularly difficult to deal with, according to Stephan.com, is Apple's decision not to provide a documented way to remove Widgets once installed. In fact, Apple's Mac OS X Help files state specifically that "You cannot remove widgets from the Widget Bar or change their order." A developer has demonstrated a Dashboard exploit in Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" that a malicious Web site owner could use to install Widgets you might not want on your Mac. Writing under the name of Stephan.com, the developer said that a...

Straight talk can often inspire public confidence and cool off the debate over emotional issues. But when the issue is illegal immigration, and the straight talk is a pithy directive, it can have the opposite effect. Case in point: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's remarks to newspaper publishers about how he would tackle the vexing issue of illegal immigration. "It's a federal issue," Schwarzenegger said. "And the only thing that I can say and add to this is really, close the borders. Close the borders in California and all across Mexico and in the United States." Close the borders. Thanks for the...

(COMPUTERWORLD) - There has been a lot of buzz in the past few months over the arrival of Firefox, the open-source browser published by The Mozilla Foundation, and how Microsoft's Internet Explorer is starting to lose some of its share of the browser market to this new competitor. Out of the ashes of Netscape, Mozilla has built a solid browser that supports features such as tabbed views, Google for native searches and direct support for RSS feeds. But business users need to think twice about making the switch from Internet Explorer, since Firefox lacks the ability to run Microsoft ActiveX...
