The Finnish Police investigates a video published recently in social media by the vigilante group ‘Soldiers of Odin’ that announces a “hunt” for rapists and pedophiles. The video, which is subtitled in English and Arabic, and has since been deleted from both Facebook and Vimeo, shows a group of masked men dressed in dark, armed with bats and chains march onwards to the camera amid winter darkness, accompanied by heavy metal music. One of them, who acts as a spokesperson, announces that “The pedophile hunting season has been opened!”

The vigilante group Soldiers of Odin has begun patrolling streets and public places in Oulu, in response to several cases of rape and sexual assault committed against Finnish children by migrant men. The patrol visits, among other things, shopping centres in the city, as these have been identified as places where foreigners are looking for victims to rape and molest. The initiative comes shortly after the police have warned the population against taking the law into their own hands, Ålands Nyheter reports. Soldiers of Odin (SOO) is an anti-immigrant group founded in Kemi, Finland, in October 2015. The group was...

The green-lighting of the project came last week in the form of an announcement that the Corps has formally...

Far-right group Soldiers of Odin targeted a Muslim school in a Stockholm suburb following reports the school had segregated its children by gender on the bus. The Al Azhar school in Vällingby told newspaper Stockholm Direkt that members of the anti-immigrant vigilante group had put up propaganda stickers in the schoolyard and filmed some of their pupils. “They started filming children in the schoolyard, and then they kicked a football away from some guys. When I saw them, they were at the entrance and were putting up their stickers, and then I called the police,” said vice principal Jane Almquist....

A Progress Party MP set off a firestorm by saying that groups like the Soldiers of Odin should be applauded. The Progress Party’s Jan Arlid Ellingsen said in a Tuesday radio debate that the self-declared patriot group Soldiers of Odin should be “praisedâ€. “Progress of course doesn’t give unlimited support to the Soldiers of Odin. But the situation is that we have for a long time had a situation in our streets that nobody wants, where crimes are committed and other actions we don’t want occur and the Norwegian police don’t have the resources to do the job. Thus we...

Tyler DurdenJanuary 14,2016 Last weekend, some 1,700 Germans turned out for a PEGIDA rally in Cologne to protest the wave of sexual assaults that unfolded in the city on New Year’s Eve in the town center. PEGIDA nearly faded into obscurity early last year when then-leader Lutz Bachmann posted a picture of himself dressed as Hitler on Facebook with the caption “He’s Backâ€, but thanks to the 1.1 million Mid-East asylum seekers that poured across Germany’s borders in 2015, the anti-immigrant group has seen something of a resurgence over the past six or so months. While the group claims to...

Wearing black jackets adorned with a symbol of a Viking and the Finnish flag, the "Soldiers of Odin" have surfaced as self-proclaimed patriots patrolling the streets to protect native Finns from immigrants, worrying the government and police. On the northern fringes of Europe, Finland has little history of welcoming large numbers of refugees, unlike neighbouring Sweden. But as with other European countries, it is now struggling with a huge increase in asylum seekers and the authorities are wary of any anti-immigrant vigilantism. A group of young men founded Soldiers of Odin, named after a Norse god, late last year in...

The man then stole the women's purses as they lay bruised at the bottom of the stairs, law-enforcement sources said.

United93: Too soon to remember? by Joe Moody Remember that notion we all had after 9-11: "We will never forget." For about a year, 9-11 bound us together like glue. We were American, United We Stood, nothing else mattered. But the glue quickly softened, and we came undone. No new major atacks in nearly 5 years deludes us with false feelings of security, tempting any major superpower to forget ... to forget we were attacked. We were attacked before we invaded Iraq. The hikackers planned the attack while a progressive popular president reigned. The terrorists used our own freedom and...

Hillary Clinton to visit Iraq AFP: 2/18/2005 BAGHDAD, Feb 18 (AFP) - US senator Hillary Clinton, wife of former president Bill Clinton, is expected in Baghdad on Saturday, a source at the US embassy said on Friday. The source said the five-member delegation would hold talks with Iraqi government officials and members of the national assembly, whose makeup was confirmed Thursday by the electoral commission. Heading the US delegation is John McCain, the Republican senator for Arizona and one-time rival of US President George W. Bush. McCain has been critical of the US administration's policies in Iraq since the March...
