New York City is only allowing a limited number of spectators to watch the ball drop in Times Square this New Year’s Eve, but they will be required to show proof of vaccination as well as wear a mask. This year’s New Year’s Eve in Times Square will be a bit unconventional, as was last year’s. This year, the city is capping the number of in-person spectators to 15,000 as opposed to the tens of thousands of individuals who typically attend the annual event.

This is my first post here in a long time. Since my last post, back in 2001, I have worked on a few campaigns for local conservative candidates, I've been a candidate, and I have been on my local Republican Executive Committee. I also publish a local elections blog in which I give all local candidates a username and password so they can blog with impunity at no cost in a local forum where people are looking for them. What has been so frustrating is seeing how conservatives will make a big show of outrage over some government wrongdoing, but...

Spectators warn of chaos at Beijing Olympics By Richard Spencer in Beijing Last Updated: 2:02am GMT 22/02/2008 Foreign spectators at a key test event for the Beijing Olympics have questioned the city's readiness to host the Games in August. Visitors from Britain, the Netherlands and elsewhere attending the event said the ticket allocation system broke down, officials excluded them from events arbitrarily and few allowances were made for disabled people. There was chaos yesterday at the entrance to the World Diving championships in the "Water Cube", the showpiece swimming venue. Long queues formed as scores of touts offered tickets at...

I just got an email from a realtor I had talked to a while back. I thought some of us MN Freepers might want to go over and watch or volunteer. They began construction today, Aug. 21 and will go for, of course, the next seven days. Click here to volunteer. If you want to just watch, Click here for maps on how to get there if you just want to be in the crowd!

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 7, 2006 – Spectators packed a four-mile stretch of beach and spilled into the street here to watch military and civilian air teams show their stuff yesterday. NOBLEBORO, Maine - Chuck Reinhardt stood in awe as he gazed down at the multitudes of silver-sided fish crowded into a waterway no more than 5 feet wide. After three to four years at sea, thousands of alewives were following their instincts on a journey back to the freshwater where they were born. The fish crammed themselves into a manmade brook on the final leg of their trip to Damariscotta Lake, reminding Reinhardt of a familiar scene before he moved to Maine. "It looks like the Long Island Expressway," he said. Each spring, tens of thousands of alewives pass through...

Spectators boo as fashion models sport nooses and hoods Models sporting nooses, execution-style hoods and body-covering bandages triggered howls of protest and walkouts at Madrid's most prestigious fashion show. Carrying rosaries or crucifixes, they paraded - and stumbled - to the sounds of a man's voice saying the Lord's Prayer, followed by a woman panting erotically and iron bars screeching as they opened and closed. Spectators at the finale of the Pasarela Cibeles fashion show last night booed, whistled and called out to the vision-impaired models to guide them after some tripped. Some in the crowd said the hoods recalled...
