  • Why Do The Brits Keep the Falkland Islands? My Idea.

3,000 people live there-middle of nowhere-expensive to maintain. The last war over the place cost the Limeys $500k per person to save. They're keeping it just to prove a point. Think Guantanamo without credible threats to change. Now the Brits have cut down their military where another rescue mission would be impossible. All this based on principle. At this point any 'solution' to this dilemma will not happen without the bigger issue of 'saving face'. There is a way out and it will have to involve the US.
  • Paul Ryan says former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election [Eddie "RINO Surrender Monkey" Munster weighs in]

    WISN - ABC ^ | August 31, 2021 | Kent Wainscott
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan told WISN 12 News on Monday there should be no question that President Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election. "President Trump lost the election. Joe Biden won the election," Ryan said to WISN 12 News reporter Kent Wainscott during a rare interview. Even as Wisconsin Republican lawmakers launch a forensic audit of the 2020 election, Ryan believes it is time for his party to move past the false claim that the election was stolen from Trump. "President Trump continues to insist that the 2020 election was rigged and that he in fact won," Wainscott...

The pandemic exposed the warts of the public-school system. Students suffered academically, and the recent emergence of critical race theory has concerned many parents. While there have been high-profile cases of parents standing up to school boards against school closings and critical race theory, a record number of parents are turning to homeschooling. While the desire to personally shepherd one’s child should be commended, homeschooling en masse cannot be the answer to our educational crisis. ... ...A new report from the Associated Press found that the number of homeschooled children doubled over just six months. One family described their decision...

WASHINGTON, Aug 13 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration has been holding secret talks with more countries than previously known in a desperate attempt to secure deals to temporarily house at-risk Afghans who worked for the U.S. government, four U.S. officials told Reuters. The previously unreported discussions with such countries as Kosovo and Albania underscore the administration's desire to protect U.S.-affiliated Afghans from Taliban reprisals while safely completing the process of approving their U.S. visas. With the Taliban tightening their grip on Afghanistan at a shockingly swift pace, the United States on Thursday announced it would send 1,000 personnel to...

The headline from the new Quinnipiac poll is pretty straightforward: The Republican party remains Donald Trump’s party. No fewer than 84 percent of Republicans have a favorable opinion of Donald Trump. Two-thirds of Republicans want him to run for president. And most of the rest of the remaining third would prefer a Republican candidate who mostly agrees with, rather than disagrees with, Donald Trump.Meanwhile, the most prominent recent Republican critic of Donald Trump—Liz Cheney—is now deeply unpopular with Republicans: 12 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of Cheney, while 52 percent of Republicans have an unfavorable view. One expects that...

Ben Shapiro believes the government has the right to force you to take a COVID-19 vaccine. Tom Pappert by TOM PAPPERT March 20, 2021During the March 18 episode of his radio show, conservative commentator Ben Shapiro made the case for mandatory vaccination. When a caller asked Shapiro about the use of fetal baby DNA, and about the vaccine companies not having any liability and having access to a special government-sponsored payout system for those who sustain critical injuries or die because of vaccines, Shapiro made the case for mandating them anyway.Shapiro claimed that personal liberty only counts when it comes...

BEIJING continues to beef up its military capabilities in and around the South China Sea, as it seeks to assert its complete control over the disputed waters. Besides the new aircraft deployments, the Chinese military appears to be pushing ahead with the construction of a dry dock at its Yulin naval complex east of Sanya. The dimensions of the new dock would suggest that it will be capable of housing China's aircraft carriers as well as destroyer and cruiser fleets. The naval base is already home to the Chinese navy's conventional and nuclear powered submarines. All these measures significantly increase...

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that President Donald Trump’s legal theories attempting to overturn the 2020 election results were “an absurdity.” Christie said, “Well, listen, the legal theory put forward by his legal team and by the president is an absurdity. And the reason why the Supreme Court didn’t take it is because it’s an absurd idea to think that any state, or any number of states, no matter how good they are, can challenge another state’s right to run the election as they see fit. And also, there’s no evidence.” Guest anchor Martha...

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Friday pushed back against President Trump's baseless claim that the election is being stolen, warning that his rhetoric is only inflaming partisan tensions. Romney, in a statement posted to Twitter, said the president was "right" to "exhaust legal remedies," including asking for recounts and that alleged voting irregularities be investigated, but "wrong to say that the election was rigged, corrupt and stolen." "Doing so damages the cause of freedom here and around the world, weakens the institutions that lie at the foundation of the Republic and recklessly inflames destructive and dangerous passions," Romney added. Sen. Mike Braun, R-Ind., said on Sunday that he hopes undergoing impeachment and the trial in the Senate will “be instructive” for President Trump. Braun’s comments came during a contentious back-and-forth with moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” where Todd told the Indiana lawmaker that Trump "is going to take acquittal and think, 'I can keep doing this,'" "No, I don't think that," Braun replied. "Hopefully, it'll be instructive." "I think he'll put two and two together," the Indiana Republican added. "In this case, he was taken to the carpet."

Well, it’s been (almost) three solid years into the Donald Trump Presidency and not one treasonous criminal action has been punished. Not one. ZERO. Zilch. Na-da. Take for example when Hillary Clinton literally laughed out loud at a question about her email investigation — had to wipe her eyes, she laughed so hard. She laughed at us, at America, for being so clueless as to think she’d ever answer to our laws. And she’s still laughing, because she’s right: she’s untouchable. The consensus is that even though we know that the first email investigation was rigged by the FBI to...

As Washington was the "one indispensable man," the U.S. is the one indispensable nation. The less its leaders and its citizens believe that, the more it is proven to be true, as the world situation deteriorates. Yet many Americans are experiencing a crisis of faith, deeper and more sinister than the "malaise" with which Jimmy Carter said we were afflicted in the late 1970s. Truth be told, the United States has been in the midst of a "Cold Culture War" for several decades. That war is essentially over. The progressives won. In 1993, Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) coined the phrase...
