This is an article that you're going to want to spread far and wide! Copy the browser address, paste it in an email and send it out to everyone you know. Post it at Facebook and in every newspaper that will allow it. It's our only hope, America! According to Cha-Cha, the information website on (supposedly) everything, the great novel Moby Dick is 864 pages long. Wikipedia claims that War & Peace is 1440 pages in hardcover form. Each of these great classic novels were written long before radio, television, I-Pads, I-Phones or the Internet. The point here being if someone...

By Dr. Phil Taverna I ran across this book in my travels. And it peaked my interest. Who was the Forgotten Man? According to Amity Shlaes, her book, The Forgotten Man is someone that will peak your interest for sure. When I first saw the expression, I expected to see a book written by a commie liberal and it was about the plight of the blacks and minorities who can't seem to get a fair share no matter how much money we throw at them. This book is mainly about FDR the biggest commie of the 40's but it also gives you...

(Sketch of the Supreme Court justices hearing the health care reform case in March by Bill Hennessy.)By Mr. CurmudgeonRecently, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Congress has the power to do just about anything it desires provided it's called a tax. It's hard not to notice that the Progressive march toward totalitarianism in America has a decidedly bipartisan feel. Chief Justice John Roberts, who wrote the high court's majority opinion, is an appointee of "compassionate conservative" George W. Bush. This ruling positions the Tea Party as the only alternative to our broken two-party system. At the center of the controversy, stands...

The majority decision distorts the Constitution to uphold ObamaCare. As bad as ObamaCare is, the decision transcends ObamaCare most perniciously because it expands the power of the Congress to interfere in countless other ways as yet unknown in how we live our lives.John Turley today noted that having decided that the ObamaCare individual mandate is outside the authority of the Congress under the Commerce Clause, the Supreme Court found the requisite authority in the congressional authority to tax. But no sooner had Roberts proclaimed his love for federalism than he effectively killed it. Roberts held that the individual mandate still...

By Mr. CurmudgeonThe contemptible Attorney General Eric Holder is losing friends among his fearless leader's party. Utah's Democratic Representative Jim Matheson announced his plan to join with Republicans who will vote Holder in contempt of Congress this Thursday for obstructing the investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform into Operation Fast and Furious, in which ATF operatives (under the auspices of the Justice Department) sold weapons to Mexican drug cartels at the cost of hundreds of innocent lives."Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the attorney general in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable," Matheson...

The leaks have started. The Daily Caller's Matthew Boyle writes that Javiar Manjarres of the Shark Tank political blog reported Sunday that "Wasserman Schultz will not be back as DNC Chairwoman after the November elections." On top of that, her own insiders are leaking the same information to several bloggers and reporters. Of course you know the drill-- they say that " The Congresswoman seeks" to concentrate on saving America as a Congresswoman and blah, blah and more blah.I would have to say that, all of the above is "Nothing is further from the truth"! I would have to contend...

If any normal America can watch this video and NOT be infuriated with the brazen attack by Muslims in the middle of the day, while police stand by and watch, then you no longer deserve to be considered a normal American.WATCH THIS EXTREMELY DISTURBING VIDEO: READ THE CRITICALLY IMPORTANT REPORT:Click here to download the report PDFDearborn, MI Police Allow Muslim's to Stone Christians at 2012 Arab FestivalBy Alan KornmanWayne County Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar summed up his situational awareness of the 2012 Dearborn Arab Festival in the Dearborn Patch by stating, "No official arrests were made, and Jaafar said his...

Doing business in the US and Mexico has a number of similarities, although the medium of exchange is sometimes different."Here's an outrage: sleazy government officials approach a major business interest and want to enter into "negotiations." The officials casually mention, "You've got a nice little business here. It would be a shame if something happened to it."Both sides know the business needs permits to operate, current regulations could be changed or delayed and the bureaucracy's normally glacial pace could begin to approach that of plate tectonics. All it takes is a little ill will on the government side and...

In America today just like in Lake Woebegone every child is above average and every child gets a trophy. We may score low in international grade comparisons but we rank number one in self-esteem. In other words American students may not be doing well but they think they are. Those of us old enough to remember how Dad could control the situation with a look and when you got in trouble in school your parents didn't sue or contact the School Board you got in trouble at home too are also old enough to remember Watergate. This scandal that the general...

For the left, Operation Fast and Furious is George W. Bush's fault, or it's a witch-hunt over already answered questions. After all, Attorney General Eric Holder's Justice Department gave more than seven thousand documents to the House committee investigating the matter.Considering the sheer volume of paper involved, two questions remain unanswered: First, who ordered the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to sell assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels? Second, did the person or persons in question ever once consider the deadly consequences this action would have on the lives of innocent people caught in the crossfire? For some, the...

Duly Noted. George HandleryClout and Contempt. The use, overuse and neglect of power.Arguably, a Great Power is one that, while it acts rationally, can afford to consider the local consequences of her move and mulls only thereafter the reaction of the world. The word "afford" is the critical term of the attempt to formulate a rule.Disregarding this rule, to their peril, lesser communities are apt to overestimate their significance. This indulgence might have historical reasons, such as having been enabled, under earlier and different conditions, to be a major power. France in the course of the last century is an example...

Today's announcement that Hosni Mubarak is now gravely ill and apparently on his death-bed prompted me to remember the events of last year. I remember vividly turning on Fox News around 5:30am, clutching my cup of French vanilla/breakfast blend coffee. I was greeted by an incredible scene-- thousands of Egyptians in the streets, rioting/protesting. Four or five hours later, I also recall the White House held a briefing with Robert Gibbs (the then-Press Secretary). I honestly cannot remember which reporter asked him the question, but it went along these lines: Mr. Gibbs, can you tell us who or what group is behind these protest...

Obama Pushed MeBy: Mr. CurmudgeonIt was Monday August 20, 1973, and comedian Joey Bishop was guest hosting NBC's The Tonight Show. As the introduction music played, Bishop stumbled through the stage curtains, righted himself and announced, "I didn't want to come out here but Nixon pushed me."Earlier that day, Watergate-embattled President Richard Nixon was in New Orleans to speak at the Rivergate Convention Center before the Veterans of Foreign Wars. As Nixon and state dignitaries approached the hall's entrance, the president and his party were elbowed aside by a throng of press in a hurry to get out of the...

The Supreme Court is Set to Rule on Arizona's Tough New Illegal Immigration Law, SB 1070 By Scott Rohter, June 2012Based on the oral arguments, and the type of questions that were raised by the Supreme Court Justices, especially from the Court's first and only Hispanic Justice, Sonia Sotomayor who is also the newest member of the Court, the United States Supreme Court seems un-likely to strike down Arizona's tough new illegal immigration law, SB 1070. "Why don't you try to come up with something else?" is just one example of Justice Sotomayor's questions that she addressed to Solicitor...

On June 8, 2012, President Obama gave a press conference that lasted a little over 22 minutes. At the 21 minute mark President Obama said with a totally straight face that the " private sector was doing just fine." This on the heels of a disastrous jobs report.

Where, Oh Deceiver, Is Thy Sting? The Tea Party and Racism©2011 By Anthony JamesAs we approach the silliest of all Silly Seasons, it is important to bear a couple things in mind. While the run-up to, and then the engagement of, our quadrennial Presidential Elections are aptly referred to as "the Silly Season" because of the abnormally high level of mischief and demagoguery normally indulged in by both camps, this 2012 Election cycle promises to be an order of magnitude more Daliesque than any we have ever seen. Not only are the usual players already piqued by the extraordinarily dire situation...

© 2012 by Anthony James, all rights reservedFor the moment, let's ignore the fact that all of America's 13 original colonies had official state religions based upon the Christian Bible. Let's further ignore that the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the Hon. John Jay is accurately quoted as having written "...Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the privilege as well as the duty of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians as their rulers." Finally, let's ignore that in another article here on...
