Sarah Palin’s father and brother, Chuck Heath Sr. and Chuck Heath Jr., have endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim James for governor of Alabama. Chuck Heath, Sr. says, “I’m all for him. He’s my kind of guy. I’m very impressed with him.” Heath met with Tim James earlier in the year at the Rainy Day Patriots’ TEA Party rally on Tax Day, April 15, in the Birmingham area. Amid a national debate over Arizona's tough new immigration law, Republican Alabama gubernatorial candidate Tim James (and son of previous Gov. Fob James) vows in a new campaign ad that if he's elected, he'll give the state driver's license exam only in English, as a cost-saving measure. "This is Alabama; we speak English," he says in the ad. "If you want to live here, learn it."

“The United States is in the shape its in because a generation or so [my generation] did not involve themselves with government and were involved with their lives. Things were good. While this was happening, the federal government went off track. We have a massive debt load that our grandchildren and great-grandchildren can never hope to pay back. We have seen a moral slide in this country, as well. I want to work to help get it back on track.”
