….. Exactly what the idea will entail is hazy, but it seems overwhelmingly likely that it's basically a way for people with lots of money but zero charisma to try to get ahead — a gross way to bring the concept of "pay-to-win" to an area of the internet that's already plagued with harassment, particularly for women. To be fair, it's still unclear when or if the company will ever roll out the feature. One obstacle: getting it out of the door without seriously pissing off the rest of the user base might prove tricky. Tinder's parent company Match Group...

“I can’t believe how boring the guys are in this town,” a San Francisco friend of mine messaged me after seeing my Tinder Live show at Cobb’s Comedy Club as part of SF Sketchfest. I created my show Tinder Live with Lane Moore nearly 10 years ago now because the first time I used dating apps I was struck by how many absolutely wild profiles I’d seen, particularly from men. I’ve toured the world and written a book about how to be alone (if you want to or if you don’t), as well as one coming out in April about...

first started using dating apps in 2016, when I found myself newly separated. Having been in a relationship with my now ex-husband for almost 10 years, I found dating had completely transformed in the decade I'd been out of the game. It was now all about "the apps": Tinder and Bumble were now the place to go to get a date. I know I'm not the only millennial who has emerged into this new landscape after a long-term relationship and could have really done with a map to navigate it—or at least a friendly guide. Instead, I embarked on three...

Suzy Weiss is a 27-year-old journalist who is bright, thoughtful, and very lonely. She’s also wondering why Tinder and other apps like it have failed members of her generation.Writing at her older sister Bari’s Substack “Common Sense,” Suzy claims in an article called “Generation Swipe,” that “Tinder promised it would revolutionize romance.” So far, however, it appears to have failed not only her, but her peers as well. And she wonders why.Part of the problem can be found in the first paragraph, however:“Every generation thinks they have it the hardest when it comes to finding love, but it’s hard to...

"salacious revelations about Murphy’s life resurfaced in the aftermath after those killings, including something he wrote in 2015 about sharing his “hot young girlfriend” with a “stranger from Tinder.” Just before Christmas, Sydney Watson asked Murphy about it on Blaze TV, and it did not go well.
