President Trump is trying to focus this week on one thing: Jobs, jobs and more jobs. The White House is dubbing it "workforce development week" and has filled the president's schedule with workplace visits, speeches and roundtable discussions on the subject. The aim is to present a fix to a big U.S. problem: job skills. What's clear: Trump wants to make a big commitment to expand apprenticeship programs. What's unclear: How his budget will pay for it and whether apprenticeships alone can fix the country's massive job skills gap. Trump's budget proposal allocates $90 million for grants to apprenticeships, but...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker said Monday that when President Donald Trump comes to Wisconsin, he will see that people outside of Washington "still like his policies." Walker spoke on the Mike Gallagher radio show about a fundraiser Trump is hosting for Walker in Milwaukee on Tuesday night. Trump is also touring a technical college with Walker in the Milwaukee area. The fundraiser comes as Walker prepares for an expected re-election run in 2018. Walker didn't initially endorse Trump, but came around after he secured the Republican nomination. Trump carried Wisconsin by less than a percentage point.....

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Berkeley County leaders want everyone who wants to work at the upcoming Volvo plant to have their best chance. They're launching a program with Trident Technical College to provide training to county residents that will teach them everything they need to know to snag a manufacturing job. While the training doesn't guarantee a job at Volvo, it does give participants a leg up over someone who is just coming in off the street. "This pilot program shows that Berkeley County leaders are keeping our promises and connecting Berkeley County citizens with jobs," said Berkeley County...

Well, that didn't take long. Somebody has already found - and posted on YouTube - what appears to be a short United Airlines training video.

The Islamic terrorist front group that transformed the way U.S. law enforcement agencies conduct anti-terrorism training is ordering the Air Force to sever ties with an instructor it considers to be anti-Muslim. The question is will the Trump administration cave into its demands? Under Barack Obama, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that reportedly raises money for Hamas, wielded tremendous power and managed to bully law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level to alter counterterrorism training materials deemed by the group to discriminate against Muslims. This includes getting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to...

There are so many ways Clinton Anderson could be described, but ***hole doesn’t quite fit the bill. Although he self-labels himself an ***hole, “if your definition of an asshole is someone who tells the truth, speaks their mind, and is direct”, I think it misses the mark. Besides calling himself an ***hole, Clinton Anderson also sits down with his media crew to voice his support for abusing horses, abusing children, ass rape, the death of female riders who annoy him and calling anyone not pursuing competition delusional. I probably missed a few points but he covered a lot of bases.

Claudia Fugazza, Ákos Pogány, and Ádám MiklósNovember 23, 2016 People have a remarkable ability to remember and recall events from the past, even when those events didn't hold any particular importance at the time they occurred. Now, researchers reporting in the journal Current Biology on November 23 have evidence that dogs have that kind of "episodic memory" too. The study found that dogs can recall a person's complex actions even when they don't expect to have their memory tested. "The results of our study can be considered as a further step to break down artificially erected barriers between non-human animals...

That title isn’t joking. This post is aimed at my liberal readers. I’m a libertarian leaning Republican and gun expert, who thinks you are wrong about a lot of stuff, but I’m not writing this to gloat about your loss. For the record, I disliked all the presidential candidates. Judging by your social media over the last few days many liberals have been utterly terrified that your government might turn tyrannical or that evil people will now be emboldened to hurt you. I’m going to let you in on a little thing the other half of the country is familiar...

With 10 years remaining in its $12 billion road-building program, the Illinois tollway intends to start training workers to help finish the job. The aim is to increase the number of minorities working on tollway projects through a center teaching construction-related skills, officials said at a meeting Wednesday. The program is in the early stages, with diversity department planners still figuring out logistics, including funding. About $400,000 is allocated for 2017, although several tollway board directors advised staff members to budget for more. A 2015 tollway study concluded that blacks, Hispanics and women are underrepresented compared to whites when it...

The US Department of Defense is using an animated online course about a zombie pandemic to teach active-duty military nurses about population health. There are actual Pentagon guidelines for a zombie outbreak as well. Do they know something we don’t? Military nurses studying for their doctorate at the Uniformed Services University of the Healthcare Sciences (USU) have to take a course on population health. Because many of the students are deployed around the world, the course has to be available online. It is not all PowerPoints and reading, however: the course features an animated storyline revolving around a zombie...

A pair of incidents remind us that we are still living in a democracy and peaceful pushback can work, even on a college campus. Both stories involve Young Americans for Freedom. Two years ago, Virginia Tech cut off funding to the campus chapter of YAF when the group invited former U. S. treasurer Bay Buchanan, sister of conservative columnist Pat Buchanan, on campus to speak on immigration reform. Now, "After a long battle, Virginia Tech administrators reversed the Student Budget Board's decision and returned funding to VT YAF," Emily Jashinsky writes in the Winter 2016 issue of Libertas. Libertas is...

If anyone had any doubt that Sweden has lost its collective mind, doubt no more. If this bit of news doesn't force you to face reality, then I give up! Sweden is offering sniper training for their new little friends from Islamic lands. And no, I'm not kidding. And this isn't political satire. The Swedish government is paying for Muslim invaders to learn how to shoot rifles. If anyone had any doubt that Sweden has lost its collective mind, doubt no more. If this bit of news doesn't force you to face reality, then I give up! Sweden is offering...

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A former third-grade teacher at a Muslim school was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday for providing support to a Pakistani terrorist organization. Ali Asad Chandia, 29, who taught at the al-Huda school in College Park, Md., is one of 11 Muslim men convicted in what prosecutors called a "Virginia jihad network." The network involved a group of men who played paintball in the Virginia woods in 2000 and 2001 as a means of training for global holy war. After the Sept. 11 attacks, some group members turned their efforts against the United States, traveling to...
