OK, serious answers only please... I'm trying to understand exactly what felony Trump was convicted of in yesterday's verdict. Here's what I understand (please correct me if I am wrong or inaccurate in any of my interpretation) : 1) Trump was accused of a sexual affair with Porn Star Stormy Daniels almost 20 years ago. 2) 9 years later, as Trump was planning to ran for President, he had Stormy Daniels sign a non-disclosuer agreement in exchange for paying her $130,000 for her silence. 3) Trump is being charged with falsifying business records in relation to this particular payment. Now,...

(At the end of this editorial, I'm offering the opportunity to get a bumper sticker to spread this message) A long time ago, in 2005, I saw something George W. Bush had done, and I remarked: "First we beat the Soviet Union, then we became them." Little did I know that in under twenty years, we would see Soviet-style Show Trials. We just witnessed the most high-profile Show Trial in American history, where the President (and current candidate for a second term) was put through a trial where all of the elements were crafted to ensure a guilty verdict on...
  • Ron DeSantis: Trump Verdict Represents ‘Political Agenda of Some Kangaroo Court’

The verdict in former President Donald Trump’s business records trial in Manhattan was the “culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a statement on Thursday following the Manhattan jury finding him guilty on all 34 counts. “Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump,” DeSantis...
  • Donald Trump’s conviction is nothing more than a ‘thrill kill’

After years of trying — in the words of the judge — “to get the damned rascal in this court,” it was a conviction that many welcomed. But those words were not from Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, and the conviction was not that of former President Donald Trump. Rather they were from US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase, at the end of the 18th century, when America embraced political prosecutions to target critics and opponents. The man on trial then was James T. Callender, a muckraking writer critical of President John Adams. For accusing politicians of corruption, Callender...
  • Elon Musk Picks Apart The Trump Civil Case Verdict With One Simple Question

    02/17/2024 2:57:41 PM PST · by NoLibZone · 41 replies
X and SpaceX owner Elon Musk dismissed the verdict in Trump’s civil fraud case by simply asking who the supposed victim was if all of the loans granted to Trump were paid back with interest. In a rather unsurprising move, the former was found liable in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil suit brought against Trump and his companies. Trump was ordered to “pay back” more than $350 million after the years-long case brought forward by an attorney general who campaigned on “getting Trump” came to a close. Musk responded with a simple question in an X post. “Given...
