I have been strongly criticized in a newspaper for mentioning the sarin shells found in Iraq as evidence of the existence of WMD. Here's one paragraph of the reader's response: "Any sort of follow-up to the television watching Mr. XXX did which led to his rant would have let him in on the fact that the sarin gas shells that were found by the Poles and Americans were either left over from the Iran-Iraq War 25 years ago (in which case there is a possibility that the shells actually belong to us) or left over from the first Gulf War....

THE case for war against Iraq remains as strong as ever - on legal grounds, moral grounds and security grounds. This might seem a big statement in the light of widespread reports that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction at the time of military action in 2003. If these reports prove correct, that would be relevant if that had been known at the time of the attack last March. But the fact is the world did not know this at the time of the attack, and it did not know because Saddam Hussein had made sure that it...

Those who oppose our successful efforts in Iraq and despise our commander in chief have found a new charge to level against President Bush. No, it's not the tried and true "He's a miserable failure." It's not "He doesn't work well with others." It's not "He didn't go to the United Nations before getting us involved in an unnecessary war." It's not even "He was SELECTED, not ELECTED, president in 2000." Those attacks have failed to move the president's disapproval rating out of the low 30s. In an effort to move that number in an upward direction, some have taken...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States dismissed Iraq's destruction of some of its banned missiles on Saturday as part of a "game of deception," edging closer to war while promising a brighter future for Iraqis once President Saddam Hussein is gone. The State Department said it was seeking "clarification" of a Turkish Parliament vote first accepting and then rejecting deployment of 62,000 American troops for possible war with Iraq. Rejection would be a major blow to U.S. war planners, who hope to mount a "northern front" against Iraq from Turkish bases. Although the White House insists President Bush has yet...

    — BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi forces fired on U.S. and British warplanes patrolling "no-fly" zones in northern and southern Iraq Tuesday, an Iraqi military spokesman said. There was no immediate comment from Washington or London. The incidents happened as U.N. arms inspectors prepared to begin their first searches in four years Wednesday for illicit nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. The United States has said that Iraqi fire on its jets over the "no fly" zones may constitute a breach of this month's U.N. resolution 1441, under which Iraq must cooperate with the inspections or face the threat of war. Other...
