A member of Schoolfield Church of the Brethren got an unpleasant surprise Saturday when she arrived to find graffiti spray-painted across the back of the building. Branwen Hall, daughter of the pastor and the children’s director at the church, said her sister went to the church to do some yard work and discovered three symbols, including an upside-down cross, and the Latin words "Ave Satanas," which translate to "Hail Satan," spray-painted in red. WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. Park Police in Washington say the Lincoln Memorial is temporarily closed after someone splattered green paint on the statue and the floor area. Police say the apparent vandalism was discovered early Friday morning. No words, letters or symbols were visible in the paint. Police say the memorial on the National Mall will be closed until a maintenance crew from the National Park Service can finish cleaning up the paint. That's expected to happen Friday morning.

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Beverly Hills Police said a man — clad only in his boxers — went on a vandalism rampage Thursday evening inside a fancy restaurant in the 400 block of N. Canon Drive. The U.S. Park Police in Washington say the Lincoln Memorial has been temporarily closed after someone splattered a splash of green paint on the statue.

More than a dozen people spread throughout north and south Arlington woke up Monday morning with slashed car tires, and the vandal had a pretty specific target. Someone punctured the tires of Priuses parked overnight on driveways, apartment parking lots and the street. Police found 15 Prius cars flat. They also got a Smart car. Police say they found fingerprints consistent with someone leaning on the car while cutting the tires.

PITTSBURGH — A 25-year-old Penn Hills man was arrested Wednesday morning after authorities said he damaged several Zone 5 police cruisers parked at the station. Police told Channel 11’s Jodine Costanzo that Anton Orlichenko was at the station Wednesday complaining about President Obama, but eventually left. Suspected tagger found dead, hanging 9 stories up on office tower A man whose body was found hanging from a downtown Sacramento building Monday, nine stories up, appears to be a tagger who was attempting the vandalize the property, authorities say. The man had used rope to tie himself in a seated position like a rappeller, authorities said. The head of a conservative student organization at DePaul University has been sanctioned by the university and could be expelled after he released the names of vandals who destroyed a pro-life flag display. Kristopher Del Campo, the chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom chapter, was found guilty by the university on two counts – “Disorderly, Violent, Intimidating or Dangerous Behavior to Self or Others” and “Judicial Process Compliance.” The charges were a result of posting a copy of the university’s incident report on the YAF’s website.
