WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two U.S. governors asked the United States government on Tuesday to waive this year's mandate for making ethanol from corn, adding pressure on it to relieve meat producers from high corn prices spurred by the worst drought in more than 50 years.

Once again the Republican leadership caves and then tries to tell us they won. Just six weeks ago our mealy-mouthed leadership told us they were going to cut $100 billion from this year’s budget. A few short weeks later the gutless wonders leading our party reduced that number to $60 billiondollars. Then late last night the well tanned amoeba, John Boehner caved to the socialist-in-chief and settled on $38 billion. Boehner has been tooting his own horn saying that this is the largest budget cut in history. Well of course it’s the largest cut in history, you fools in Congress...

From an email friend: The amendment would require the Senate to be honest about its ridiculous spending and post the full cost of all PAYGO violations online for taxpayers to see. The Democrats have drafted a side-by-side amendment, to be voted on tomorrow as well.
