Despite hundreds of millions of dollars to influence and practically buy elections, GOP will come up short to overtake Senate. The ploy to reduce the honorable accomplishments of President Obama, create an unfavorable political cloud to follow him, and connect all Democrats to the unfounded, but well funded tactic, worked well with the GOP base.
