Everything I'm reading and the results of the Super Tuesday primary seem to indicate that the Republicans are hopeless. We see the difference in the enthusiasm, the lack of money being raised and the voter numbers between the democrats and the republicans. The writing is on the wall. SUGAR LAND — Mayor David Wallace will not run as a write-in Republican candidate for the congressional seat vacated by Tom DeLay. Wallace announced his decision about the Congressional District 22 race today at a news conference at Sugar Land City Hall. To cast a vote for one on the electronic eSlate machines, which don't have a keyboard, you'll have to use the "select" dial to choose "write-in." FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Buff the mayoral candidate was trying to sniff-out votes. But he won't be raising his right paw to take the oath of office. Buff the dog was a write-in candidate in the race for mayor in Williams, Ariz. Sitting Mayor Ken Edes, the only candidate on the actual ballot, easily won re-election. Buff and the other write-in candidates did manage to get about one-quarter of the votes. Buff ran on a platform of friendliness and honesty.
