President Obama made a secret deal to support Hillary Clinton when she runs for president in 2016, campaign sources say, payback for the support her husband gave him in 2012. Bill Clinton’s animosity toward Obama is legendary. A year before the last election, he was urging Hillary to challenge the sitting president for the nomination — a move she rejected. According to two people who attended that meeting in Chappaqua, Bill Clinton then went on a rant against Obama. “I’ve heard more from Bush, asking for my advice, than I’ve heard from Obama,” my sources quoted Clinton as saying. “I...

...But band turned down request to play at Sandy benefit concert Led Zeppelin did not show Sandy victims a whole lotta love. The legendary rock band turned down a request — from former President Bill Clinton, no less — to reunite and perform at the “12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief” in December. And the British musicians had the gall to turn Clinton down just before they were to be honored at the Kennedy Center in Washington, CBS reported Monday on its 60 Minutes Overtime website. “There were two bands that we were trying desperately to recruit. One was Rolling Stones,...
  • Va. Gov. Candidate Terry McAuliffe Gets Tons of $ From Out-of-State Donors (Clinton money machine!)

Out-of-state donors have apparently been very generous to one of the candidates for Governor of Virginia. Even though he claimed recently that three-quarters of his campaign contributors are Virginians, new campaign finance reports show that Democrat Terry McAuliffe has gotten nearly 80-percent of his money from donors outside Virginia. The nonpartisan "Virginia Public Access Project" found that in the first quarter of this year, McAuliffe accepted nearly 700-thousand dollars from labor unions and other groups in DC. Another one-point-two million came from donors in New York, Chicago, and L-A -- and the effort was helped by former president Bill Clinton.

The new Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Ark., will hold a dedication ceremony May 3 featuring the former President and his wife and ex- Secretary of State — but there’s just one problem for the snazzy new airport. “Locals are calling it the Hillbilly Airport,” one insider tells Confidenti@l. “And project managers certainly don’t want an airport named after our President called Hillbilly. In the South. How does that look to the world?” Our insider explains that when you depart the airport, you are met with huge signs that invite the public to “come meet” Bill...

Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, might make it a political trifecta for the Clinton dynasty. The former first daughter who currently works as a "special correspondent" with NBC, told that station in an interview on Monday that if she feels at some point in her life that she could make an impact on America, she would consider running for political office. "Right now, I'm grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators...

George H.W. vs. Bill was Bush/Clinton I. Jeb vs. Hillary could be Bush/Clinton II. And if we’re very lucky, George P. will win his race for Texas land commissioner and Chelsea will ease into public service with a Senate seat in New York or something and we’ll be on track for Bush/Clinton III circa 2032. Two points about this. One: It’s proof of how insatiable the media’s appetite for dynastic politics is (especially Democratic dynasties) that this is biggish news today even though she said the same thing six months ago. You get the feeling that Chelsea could go on...

“Hi,” she says, striding into the room with a smooth gait and a low, sure voice. “I’m Chelsea!” The handshake is confident, the eyes firmly fixed. With the ease of her father and the directness of her mother, Chelsea Clinton is stepping out into the world. At 33, she wears her political royalty in triplicate: There are her famous parents, of course, but also her mother-in-law, former Pennsylvania congresswoman Marjorie Margolies. After several years in the private sector (with McKinsey & Company, then with a hedge fund), Clinton has emerged onto the civic stage in her own right, graceful and...

Former President Bill Clinton castigated Republicans for their continued opposition to tax increases saying “they haven't been able to explain to my satisfaction how low taxes are supposed to help the economy.” “Since government is the genesis of most of the good in the world a stance that appears aimed at limiting its access to the resources it needs can only retard its role,” Clinton argued. “Cutting taxes in the hope that the aggregated selfish actions of private parties would somehow result in greater prosperity seems pretty farfetched to me.” In support of his case, Clinton cited the robust economic...

<p>As Republicans stubbornly refuse to raise taxes and the sequester grips Washington, former President Bill Clinton said Republicans need to openly state how their proposals, specifically tax cuts, would realistically work for the benefit of the American economy.</p> <p>In an interview for CNBC Meets, the 42nd president said the crucial issue in politics is always how. "Whatever you decide to do and however much money you have or don't, how do you propose to do it?" the president told CNBC's Tania Bryer. "Suppose you're a Republican. You think the only important thing to do is to cut taxes. Well, not all tax cuts are equal and there's a lot of evidence about what works and what doesn't."</p>

WASHINGTON -- Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration. A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington...

Love him or hate him, Bill Clinton is probably the most charismatic former president still around. He also seems to, somehow, be the star of the show wherever he goes. Monday's presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. was no different. During a performance of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" by "American Idol" champion Kelly Clarkson, Clinton's head popped out from the crowd as he photobombed her. The internet instantly lit up with people passing the photo around and attaching their own jokes to it.
