Well Cronos, everything you wrote wouldn’t fit on a poster board, would it? As for your “sigh”, I wasn’t being technical, I was pointing out that people have forgotten. You can downplay the significance of our role in England but I will always disagree because my own blood was stationed there and flying bombing runs into Germany. Sigh, indeed.

Did you read what I wrote? I didn’t downplay America’s role. America was critical to VE, critical. But it was not the SOLE reason Britain didn’t fall to the Nazis. Finally, even if the US stayed out completely (no lend lease even), the UK would have at worse gone neutral - the Nutzis had no means to physically invade and “make everyone speak German”.
