Harriet Miers is a highly intelligent woman and attorney with an impressive list of professional accomplishments. Her lack of judicial experience is a minus, but it doesn't disqualify her. Clearly, Bush wanted to avoid a messy confirmation battle. Miers may not be the best choice of the available people being considered, but she is qualified. I think that conservatives are overreacting and should give her a chance.
