Helen White is a dear friend who served as a US Senate page with me. She is a student at UGA and a sister of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Yesterday, she participated in the 9/12 “March on Washington” and kindly offered to share her thoughts about the historic event.

What was even more disturbing was the reaction of our leaders.

Those "leaders" are pissing on us and pissing us off.

Well said! Thanks to all the marchers who marched for those who couldn't be there.

My email fo my friends and family:

"Hi, everyone! I will try and have my pics loaded to my facebook page today so you can see the unbelievable crowds that were in DC yesterday.

My friends Mary and Diane really did not know what to expect when we left at 6:45 a.m. to drive to the Shady Grove metro station outside of Rockville, Md. When we got there around 8:15 I was flabbergasted. There were buses there from PA and Ohio. The station was packed and people were in line trying to get tickets for the Metro. We made instant friends and everyone was excited and honored to be there. We met people from Johnstown, PA who had gotten up at 2:00 a.m. to get on the bus, people from Ohio, Texas, New Hampshire and Missouri - and that was even before we got to the rally! We talked politics all the way down to DC and don't let the media fool you - these people are informed.

When we got to DC we met at Freedom Plaza which is between 12 and 14th streets on Pennsylvania AVenue. There we met people from Massachusetts, South Carolina, Georgia, New York , Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee...just amazing. The speakers later on said that all 50 states were represented and over 400 buses came from all over the nation. I get teary-eyed just writing about it. It was awe inspiring and motivating. Everyone was pumped, gracious, happy to be there, but there is a deep underlying anger at all politicians (except Joe Wilson), the media and corruption.

And when people start telling you about the Obama=Hitler posters, it is not the Tea Party people, it is that nut Lyndon Larouche's people....again the media won't tell you that. They are there at every tea party, every townhall meeting to cast aspursions on our purpose and to try and grab hold of others coattails.

No drunkenness, no profanity. Gazillion signs, so creative, humorous. People dressed in red, white and blue, various costumes.. All having a good time, sitting around and talking politics, and upset about the direction of our nation. Most were in agreement to kick the bums out, and that it is time for term limits to force out career politicians. Lower taxes, cut spending, and NO OBAMACARE.

There were speakers, but it was hard to hear from where we were, and we were happier to walk around, talk to people, find out where they were from, and just take it all in.

There was a very touching moment for me, when a good looking man all dressed up with his red Tennessee t-shirt, who had to be in his eighties, was walking around using his walker with wheels, thanking US for being there. Again, I get soppy again just seeing him in my mind's eye.

I was listening to Fox and Friends a little this morning and they were talking about the crowd being in the 10's of thousands. Well, they were not lying, in that I guess over 300,000 people add up from 10's of thousands, but check out the following videos and judge for yourself.

Anyway, God bless everyone who was there. A lovely crowd, a lovely day that went without a hitch. I guess we average Joes and Janes can get it right without knowing it.

One little funny. When we were approaching the Capitol building at the end of the March we had to divide and choose a direction. I told the guy next to me, a true conservative always goes right. He laughed heartily, and of course, that is exactly the way we went."

Just a great day to be and American and stand up for your beliefs.
