Does Senator Lisa Murkowski Deserve a Second Chance? No

For the last week, there was a political tennis match being played in Senator Lisa Murkowsi's defeat.

The issue on whether or not Lisa Murkowski would seek to run as an Independent was being volleyed back and forth between the Alaska Libertarian Party and supporters of Lisa Murkowski.

One day, the Alaska Libertarian Party stated Senator Murkowski would not be a good fit. Then the next day, it seemed that she may fit the Alaska Libertarian Party.

But through the volleys in the political game, a pledge by Senator Lisa Murkowski had been lost or silenced by the media; a pledge that requires a question to be asked; does Lisa Murkowski deserve a second chance?

When a politician states something when the odds are against them or with them, words in a pledge matter.

And the words spoken in a pledge were done in a manner that there is no making a mistake on what was said.

The pledge given by Senator Murkowski and Joe Miller was done in the form of an answer to a question posed to both candidates at a forum in Kenai.

As reported by the Peninsula Clarion:

In a response to the final question, Miller said he would "of course" vote for Murkowski if she is elected to be the Republican candidate in the primary.

"But I'm going to win the primary," he said.

Murkowski said she respects the electorate and would support whoever wins.

There is no confusion with Murkowski's statements. They could mean only one thing; that is she respects the electorate (not her supporters) and because of her respecting the electorate, she would support the winner of the primary.

She has not done that and instead, Lisa Murkowski has followed the path Andrew Halcro created and reneged on her pledge to the electorate.

Because Lisa Murkowski has no one to blame but herself, the answer to the question on if Lisa Murkowski deserves a second chance is, no.

The primary is over and Murkowsi lost. Not much turns voters off more then being a sore loser. The smart move is to lay back and prepare for the next election cycle.

Spoilers have little future. Too many remember.

When politicians run by changing parties when they lose, it’s a sign of supreme self interest.

They can’t let go of that good life. They got used to it and they forgot why we sent them there. It’s the ultimate in selfishness.

After living off the Government tit for a few years it’s hard to go back to living off your own paycheck.

The primary she lost allowed both Republicans and INDEPENDENTS to vote. If she can’t beat a Republican in a contest where both Republicans and Independents can vote, how does she expect to do better when Democrat voters are thrown into the mix? They have a candidate of their own. I understand he’s less of a crook and is merely sanguine, not exhuberent over baby-killing.

She is emblematic of ALL that is wrong in DC...on BOTH sides of the aisle.
