Last Wednesday, President Obama awarded Staff Sgt. Robert Miller, a 24-year old Green Beret who heroically died in Afghanistan, the highest military decoration an American soldier can obtain. For his bravery in battle, President Obama bestowed the Congressional Medal of Honor to Millers proud parents. Upon being ambushed by over 150 insurgents, Miller commanded his small unit of about two dozen men to fall back. As they began to take cover, Sgt. Miller did the unthinkable. He ran in the direction of the insurgents. While running through debris and firing his weapon, Miller called out enemy positions on the radio, even after he had been hit once. He gave his men time to re-group and escape the situation. Sgt. Millers story is one of immense courage and ultimate selflessness. Because of his sacrifice, over 20 Afghani and American troops will return home to their loved ones at the end of their tour. As young adults in todays America, where nearly half our lives have been spent in a country at war, we must ask ourselves if we are still a country that is most concerned with the safety of our citizens and our men and women in uniform. We hear Novembers candidates holler back and forth at each other about issues like healthcare, tax cuts and cap and trade. The truth is, all that will be irrelevant if the world around us collapses in disarray because of our failures.

Truly a national Hero, in every sense of the word...Hero.
May God comfort his family. This Man did what was necessary,
with self sacrifice for his men. Self Sacrifice, and
true devotion to Duty, and Honor. I believe God always
welcomes individuals, such as Staff Sgt. Robert Miller
into the Kingdom. Well Done, will be
the greeting from fellow servicemen and God.
If the US really set free the 2nd in command of the Taliban who promptly vanished, in order to generate “good will” at peace talks, then we should pull out. We should pull out because we can’t trust this administration to do anything right.
This is an excellent article! I know you are proud of her. She must have a really great mom:)
