Her cell is working...I talked to her, she is very sick, and very sick about the cuts and that no one is up in arms about that! Still feisty!

Ever the victim!

Bobbolink is the biggest con on the web.

The posts to he/she/it are hysterical-——are people really that naive?

If I was homeless & living in my car, I’d drive it to a warmer climate.

I would also work double shifts at Burger King rather than be homeless and living in my car, but heck, that’s just me.

Why can’t this homeless person apply for section 8 housing, welfare, food stamps, etc.? Not to be cruel, but if they are posting on a computer, and can afford the monthly cell phone fees, they might find some time in their day to look into getting some assistance. Heck, there’s a homeless shelter in just about every town.

how does one post on the internet living in a car?

If you're Hobo, you park the Escalade in a Wendy's parking lot and boot up the laptop. Wendy's usually have wifi coverage for the entire lot.

That could also be a good spot for Hobo to do a bit of productive panhandling. Most customers coming out the Wendy's door probably have some pocket change handy after breaking a tenner at the counter.

If I come across sounding as though I don't have any compassion for HOBO living in her alleged pitiful circumstances, it's only because I don't believe for a NY minute that her sad plight is for real. OTOH, the DUmmy posters seem to buy it lock, stock, and barrel, yet her alleged pitiful situation doesn't seem to motivate any of them to help her out of her alleged extreme poverty by offering to send her a few George Washingtons now and then.

If any DUmmies are lurking, in case you don't happen to know it's not hard to send Hobo a monetary gift so she can move up to a better brand of cat food. Convenience stores sell money orders for a reasonably small price, and a 44 cent stamp on an envelope will get it to Colorado before you can say "kill the capitalist pigs" twice. Interested? No?? I didn't really think you would be.

I hope this will serve as a rallying point for DUers to fight the cuts that hurt the most vulnerable in our society.

[Yup! This is sounding more and more like political theater. Do we now send tickets to fly Bobbo to Madison, WI for yet more grandstanding?]

Where does all this sound familiar? Ohhhhh, yeah...”POLITICIZE MY PLIGHT!”

She’s homeless with a car, cell phone and internet access?

Is this a great country or what?

Maybe she could use her brain as much as she uses her mouth and her overdeveloped sense of outrage, and get into a shelter.

PJ,

I have basically retired from posting, and only come around to check on you and Charles and DUFU.

You use humor, and that’s great, because it allows facts and ideas to slip through our normal defenses. That makes your DUFU threads, for me, the most valuable on FR (next to the Hottie threads....)

I used to work in a homeless shelter not far from Bukowki’s! Anyway, reading this thread, I find it interesting how many DUmmies have suddenly found the value of prayer, when their MONEY would be pretty useful. Except, as has been the case since the FDR era, liberals do not see a problem and think “OK, what do *I* do to solve it?”—even when a ‘neighbor’ or ‘friend’ is involved—they start bitching about what EVERYONE ELSE *ISN’T* doing (”cuts”).

Meanwhile, the homeless person continues to be alone and sick.

I’ve said this many times on FR and have made no friends when I say it here in Boston (especially since I’m an agnostic): The coolest, most HELPFUL people at the shelter were the Christian volunteers (who knew I wasn’t one of them, yet we bonded bautifully, and they’d come to me for information and help instead of the liberal “Christians” I worked with), while the MIT and Harvard students, so liberal, so caring, would drop by for a few hours and have to basically be stuck in a corner while we did the real work.

I recently had a case of an “Internet friend” who fell on hard times, and I, who last year earned less in my new job working with kids we’re trying to keep from becoming homesless than I have in ages, gave this friend money, repeatedly, and at great personal cost. I don’t bring this up for applause, but to show the DUmmies how a HUMAN BEING as opposed to a complaint machine acts when someone is in need.

Thanks for nothing but bitching, DUmmies.

And thank you, PJ and Charles, for all you do here.

Best,

John

GREAT point. They can buy cash cards with anywhere from $50 to $500 on them, too. If enough DUmmies did that, this person could get off the streets for awhile and get her life together.

I suspect they prefer her as a 'living symbol of American hearlessness' or something.

The post of the thread.

Funny how we seem to be offering more advice to the liberal conservative-hating DUmmie here than they are over there.

i hate that our country tolerates poverty and homelessness.

Every one of THEM is tolerating it personally, but SOMEBODY should care.
