I think they were a thrash metal band from the early 1990's.

They opened for "Cradle of Filth", which, interestingly, is also the name of Obama's upcoming 3rd autobiography about Stanley Ann's parenting skills.

You beat me to it. If I played Dungeon & Dragons I would most likely create an evil wizard class character named Vortex Of Death.
