Occupy Wall Street: Greece is Our Example

There are many countries that Occupy Wall Street can point to as an example and be farily accurate: the Soviet Union, Cuba, etc. However, in a lot of ways, they've picked perhaps the perfect one on their website.

Greece is an economic basket case in which the government heavily taxes the rich and has a massive, inefficient public sector. It's lived off of the charity of Europe and the United States while having a massive black market and spiraling corruption rate. Their economy is shrinking and their unemployment rate.... over 16%

So what country would be better to emulate? According to the OWS site, they are in solidarity with Greeks demanding more from the "1%," because of course it was them and not profligate policies that got the Hellenes into this mess:

So the brilliance spewing from these protesters is that our ten year bond should be like Greece??

The colleges that these so called educated protesters attended should lose accreditation.

Greece has not been a ‘model’ for the rest of the world for centuries.

Any contribution Greece could make to Western culture was made long ago and the Greeks themselves have long since strayed from their own example.

Now is NOT the time to admire Greece or to emulate anything Greek.

Greeks have such an irrational attachment to their denial that they have recklessly and pointlessly exceeded the point of no return. Like an imploding star, the death spiral of that country will vaporize whatever becomes ensnared within its trajectory.

It is absurd and gullible to look for an example in the ash heap of history.
