True now...maybe false in the future. Those nonconformists are all alike.
TRUE, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Well, it would depend on whether the tatts are visible and what kind of piercings.
I mean many women have pierced ears and people don’t seem to mind that if its 1, 2 or 3.
If the tatts can be covered, it’s not an issue.
Hoodies too.
Now THERE’S a bulletin!
I did not know this. Next you’ll be telling me my felony convictions also are held against me.
Quite true. I won’t hire anyone with any tattoo that would become visible in general business attire, casual or formal.
True.
If I am interviewing and see any tat in view (or obviously concealed), I conclude the interviewee is 1) stupid 2) rash 3) unable to see the consequences of his/her actions.
Not getting my recommendation to hire. Even if he/she interviews well on the subject matter.
Belly button piercings are hot at hell. A panama city license plate(tattoo on small of back) is not.
I can’t tell you the number of people we have turned down with tattoos. Same with men with earrings. Course we never say that but everyone knows what the standards are. Also, and I have to say I don’t agree with this one - we don’t hire if you are “visibly” overweight. The bummer is I have interviewed numerous excellent technicians but they don’t stand a chance of getting a job and we keep looking....
No -- reeeeeeeeeely? Why, the nerve!
Except in low paying jobs and business that cater to the 18-35 demographic, it is definitely true. That’s particularly true if that crap is all up and down your arms and on your neck. It just screams “I’m working for the minimum wage the rest of my adulthood.”
I was on the bus one day, listening to a guy in his early 20s talking with a man in his 60s, bemoaning his tattoo. Granted, he had taken the extreme way. He had spent hundreds of dollars having his face and head tatooed to look like a skull. The guy couldn’t get any kind of job (I don’t know how he was living or even riding the buss). Even tattooed girls didn’t want to date him. I fear the young man was only days away from putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger.
At Starbuck’s and Target, there are more self-immolators than anywhere else. Tattoos and piercings can help you win a Starbuck’s job.
