Seems like I recently heard that they were still raising money for it.
Waiting for Obama’s second term when he has more flexibility.
Mama big butt Obama is still trying to pick out the inside paint colors. And Obama has to wait until after the election to know if he can come out and publically call himself a muzzie and go there six times a week. Basically, after he loses the election, I see him moving in with Soros to start making more plans to destroy the USA.
The Ground Zero Imam Rauf was pushing a book on Hannity a couple of weeks ago. He insisted the GZ victory mosque is a done deal since muzzies are already headbanging & arselifting in the old Burlington Coat Factory building (hit by airplane debris on 9-11) and his buddy Mayor Nannyberg is determined to see it completed and you mosque opponents are greasy islamophobes and Sharia is already here blah blah blah.
IMO it ain’t gonna happen soon. Instead, muzzie triumphalists are rushing the Murfreesboro TN mega mosque to completion in defiance of the law. Unlike GZ, it’s not hemmed in by real estate and is huge - 53,000 sq feet. This is the real encroachment that needs watching. Ground Zero is a demonstration magnet with a huge local population pool. Murfreesboro isn’t, by comparison.

Like anything else in New York City it ain’t gonna get done without the cooperation of the rank-and-file of the construction trade unions. And I just can’t ever see that happening.

Why should they have to raise the money?
Our ‘friend’ Saudi Arabia could easily pay the entire bill as they have done with so many mosques, worldwide.
I am the Library Director of a small specialized research library in the Southwest.
Over the years (post 9-11 attacks) our library has received small paperback books promoting Islam. Paid for by the Wahabbi sect our of Saudi Arabia, and, IIRC, the Saudi Embassy.
We’ve received four that I’m aware of. Two groups of two, spaced about four years apart.
Pure propaganda. Friendship, love & peace, nicey-nice stuff. Glossy picture on the cover of the mosque in Mecca. Promote understanding, etc.
When you factor in postage...they’re spending a bundle to mail these out to America’s libraries.
Fortunately, I make the collection acquisitiion decisions. We didn’t solicit them, nor did we add them to our collection: they wouldn’t be of any use to the patrons we serve.
They wound up in the trash.

As a former member of Local 59 Mason Tenders District Council of NYC, Laborers International Union of North America I would agree with you. Perhaps the only decent thing any union would ever do is refuse to work on the project. “Ain’t happenin’ as New Yorkers would say.
