Heres a bit of good news: Californias economy is improving! Of course it is not true and this pronouncement comes from a liberal think tank, but hey it sounds so good doesnt it?
Whats laughable is that The Rockefeller Foundation and Yale professor Jacob Hacker claim this improvement is proven by the fact that the percentage of Californias families reporting a major economic loss last year dropped by 1.4% which is a whole .10% better than the national average.
The fact that California is so economically distressed and has been for so long that there are few families left to experience economic losses doesnt seem to enter into Professor Hackers formula.
Now for so reality: according to those who study the fiscal and economic health of a state, a much more honest measurement is the U-Haul Index which examines the cost of moving in or out of a given state.
The latest U-Haul Index the one way cost of renting a 20 foot truck to go from San Francisco to San Antonio Texas is $1,693 yet making the trip in reverse costs only $983.00 for the same truck.
People are voting .with their feet. ..leaving California and its insane policies for ..
Texas. . fuelled by higher and higher taxes higher unemployment (even with Democrats announcing the numbers) forced union membership and a hostile climate for business in California.
On the scale of friendliness toward business California stands the 48th out of the 50 states and Texas is just 9th. The tax burden is 1/3 less in Texas than it is in California.
The percentage of Californians in poverty is growing so far that although it represents 12% of the nations population it accounts for 1/3 of all of Americas welfare recipients

I wish they would stay away from Texas
They will vote democrat and transform Texas into a California with ranches.
Repeated thousands of times. Liberals SCREW UP some locale and then everyone flees to the nearest conservative outpost. Then that outpost is INFECTED by liberals who take over and begin destroying that area.
I feel bad for Texas. Such a great state that will face the double whammy of illegal immigration and leftist coming in to take over. I heard reports that Texas will go from a Red state to a purple state by 2014 and turn blue by 2020.
Very sad.
Let’s build a moat to keep them out!
LOL!
If that would work, I’d be looking for a shovel.
They have to make room for illegal aliens to move into the blue states. Then King Baraq will extend the right to vote to them.
This is especially interesting because the U-Haul Index probably understates things.
Upper-middle class and rich people aren’t likely to move themselves, so U-Haul is primarily middle class and working class.
Wealthy and productive people are probably moving out of CA in even higher proportion.
Have companies only hire conservatives and they’ll leave like locusts when all the grain is gone.
Well they haven’t made it illegal to hire conservatives only. Especially since they only hire liberals in the media and colleges these days.
Yet.
I wish they would stay here in CA, too, and the ones who are staying would flee to Texas.
Indeed California is the flow chart of how to do everything wrong.
Kalipornia is not salvageable at this point
No, its certainly not. Hard to believe that until 88 CA went more GOP than democrat in national elections.
God be merciful to Texas, please. We already have hundreds of thousands of Mexican squatters milking the state for free stuff. We don’t need their CA enablers screwing up our elections.
The Detroitification of an entire state as beautiful as California is painful to watch.
They will ruin Texas like they did Colorado .
Librals are like locusts. They exhaust one field and move on to the next all while repeating the same destructive habits.
Amen!
