Answer this drug warriors: Do you think the Federal government has a right to tell you what you may or may not consume? If you do, please tell me where in the Constitution that government right is located.

I think it's past time for a serious discussion on The merits of social conservatism verses constitutional conservatism. It seems to me that the former takes nearly as much interest in controlling behavior as the typical statist.

To me, social conservatism can be an contradiction when you force your beliefs on others. “Life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness” goes out the window when the nanny arrives.

Surely conservatism must include “live & let live” & “mind your own business”. Bullying is not a conservative attribute. Dictating to others on their private matters implies that an equality does not exist between the two.

As for constitutional conservatism, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” - the 4th Amendment, seems to be completely ignored by EVERYONE in Washington.

No, once again, the discussion needs to be among freedom loving Americans about the need to drive out the elites from Washington & restore our republic. Then we may have the luxury of discussing the merits of ideologies.
