The purpose of the GOP today is to prevent conservatives from power, not represent them.
They are paid by The Cheap Labor Express to frustrate any attempt by the citizens to stop the invasion/cheap labor importation/colonization of our country.

I wonder when the Dems will declare that the USA is a one party system. It seems like most of the politicians are Democrat or Dem-lite with an R after their name.

I think a lot of conservatives who worked for, donated to, and voted for Republican candidates in 2010 and 2012 are asking the same question.

to make it so bad that they can get literal trash elected.

If you look at Members of Congress and Senators, of both parties - they go to the same colleges and law schools, they marry the same women, they have the same girlfriends, they buy the same DC real estate, drive the same cars, they take the same bribes from the same people, they cash out to the same K Street firms - THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.
These Republicans in whom you have so much faith vote the way they do because that's what they really believe, with very, very rare exceptions. The "battles on Capitol Hill" are, with very rare exceptions, like pro wrestling.
We have to start calling the GOPe the Washington Generals.
