I thought we had already had libel laws. Celebrities have sued tabloids and won. Trump sounds more and more like a bully. What did Washington Post write about him that he’s pissed about? Did they write about the foreign workers he’s been hiring?

Trump’s comments are authoritarian. Sad that Freepers don’t really care, and like cult of personality.

You're misreading it. We've gone so long with ball-less politicians, you are having a difficult time getting used to what a leader looks like. Trump doesn't wait for a focus group to tell him what to say. He's raw, sometimes unfiltered, but you know where he's coming from.

He's certainly not perfect but Cruz's tack towards supporting Rubio just shows you that Cruz cannot be depended upon. Cruz is out for Cruz.

Hmmmm...

Trump equates money to power.

If that is the case, is it smart to go with war with someone who has 20-25 times more money than he has?

You are not paying attention. If you are a “public figure” you have to prove actual malice when bringing a libel suit. If you are not a “public figure” then all you have to do is prove that the article was false, they knew it was false and it hurt your reputation. What Donald Trump is proposing that there be only one standard for libel, so that the libel laws are no respecters of person, i.e., that the libel laws apply equally to all persons. A very conservative idea in my opinion.

Here is hollywood’s analysis of the situation:
Absence of Malice
Paul Newman (Actor), Sally Field (Actor), Sydney Pollack (Director)

This is about Bezos using the Washington Post to attack Trump.

Trump also fired a warning shot about ‘hedge fund guys’ — who happen to be giving money to run the attack ads against Trump.

If you don’t want someone who will go after and destroy Democrats, you don’t want Trump.

He’s already said he would put Hillary in jail.

The MSM/Uniparty is going to be CRUSHED by Trump. We need to destroy the existing power structures in our country that are selling us out to open borders, Muslim invasion, illegals like Obama Cruz and Rubio thinking they can run for President.

Trump will DESTROY the enemies of this country.

Get on the TRUMP train or get run over!

Consistent conservatives....actually any sentient conservatives....actually any sentient beings....recognize a totalitarian mindset and that “the media” is fully entitled to 1st Amendment protections.

IOWs it's better for the right to blow up the republic than to let the left do it!?

Get on the TRUMP train or get run over!

Sounds like a threat. LOL

if I become president, oh do they have problems. They're gonna have such problems," said Trump. Trump went on to promise that, if he becomes president, he will "open up our libel laws, so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money."

Such a erudite speaker - and thinker -

What Pride America will be able to take with him at the helm - (need I put in a 'sarq?)

He speaks like a bottom of the class 4th grader - and no one says a word.

This is meaningless gobbledygook. How is threatening a newspaper leadership? The President has no authority to change libel laws or alter the First Amendment.

How someone in power handles criticism is a telling test, and Trump failed.

Trump will have no authority to regulate who gets to criticize his Presidency, regardless of what his filterless noise hole says.
