Oh great. A presidential candidate that wants MORE laws and more restrictions on speech. Awesome.

He owns Amazon. He wants political influence so that Amazon will benefit from it.

This from the man who will put TRUMP! in 40 foot tall neon letters on the front and back of the White House?

I'm having a hard time working up the ability to defend the media. Nope, can't do it.

The libel laws are the libel laws. Trump can use them just like anybody else but he’s not changing the libel laws. I think at this point in the campaign we should all have recognized Trump’s penchant for over the top rhetoric by now. LOL!

Bull. You obviously didn’t notice the wording which would make it dangerous for journalists to print lies. THAT is the purpose of his statement. It has nothing to do with dictatorship and everything to do with truth and honesty which doesn’t exist anymore in journalism.

Trump will lobby Congress to pass libel laws. There is no cause to cry, “dictator”.

I’m just curious, remember when that cartoon came out depicting Cruz’s daughters as monkeys> So you wouldn’t like to have stronger laws to protect against that kind of stuff?

Reminds me when General Westmoreland sued cBS for $120 million big ones for libel. They eventually settled out of court.

Can’t remember the name of the cartoon, the little king who speaks to his serfs from his tower window, and the serfs always get chit from his outbursts. That’s trump.

Someone should have beaten the sh*t outta Trump when he was growing up as a Nancy boy. Instead he turned out to be an entitled blow-hard who gets off to threatening people with his big fat mouth and threats of lawsuits. His schtick is old already.

Trump wants to make it dangerous to criticize him. I'm not looking for a dictator.

Trumps not my first choice, but he is 100% absolutely correct about this. What the heck does Bezos, a billionaire from internet commerce, want with an old-style print-and-ink, financially failing newspaper? Its pretty clear - he's buying a political voice, the main media voice in the center of the Empire that is Washington DC. Not a bad investment, actually.

And you KNOW Bezos' lifeline to WAPO will keep their leftist/progressive influence in place. That's important to the powers that be when you are a player.

Warren Buffett bought a bunch of city newspapers, supposedly "because he loved local news." Bullshit! It broke every one of his investing rules our pretend country-cousin Warren has given us to date. He bought it for political and financial insurance. I'm glad Trump has the courage to point this out to everyone.

Trump frequently says things you would expect to hear in the twilight of the republic.

We’re a different country today. Who needs the First Amendment? Let’s sue everyone into oblivion that dares to say stuff we don’t like and are not nice to us.

Let’s mandate who is allowed to buy newspapers and blog or print things we can declare lies and sue them for lots of money to shut them and everyone who is not nice to me up.

This guy might make Obama look like an Amateur in the role of king.

Taking a defendant to court over libel is not the action of a dictator. It is the action of one who supports the rule of law.

I thought we had already had libel laws. Celebrities have sued tabloids and won. Trump sounds more and more like a bully. What did Washington Post write about him that he’s pissed about? Did they write about the foreign workers he’s been hiring?

Hmmmm...

Trump equates money to power.

If that is the case, is it smart to go with war with someone who has 20-25 times more money than he has?
