The Democrats have nominated decent human beings only rarely in the last 40 years and they always lose (Mondale and Dukakis probably belong in that category). So they have switched to nominating narcissistic sociopaths and they have done much better (two out of four candidates won). Why spoil a winning formula?
Caveat: maybe I don't know enough about Mondale and Dukakis.
