Some literally last minute political bs allowed cities to make laws before state preemption prevailed. As I say i think the restrictions only apply to long guns/”assault rifles”. The only two places that come to mind where they did this were Highland Park and (naturally) shitcago/Crook County. Even at that, you can buy anything you want at Cabelas in Hoffman Estates...which they foolishly put in Crook County.(1 cent tax per rimfire round,5 cents per center fire round, $25 for a firearm, and ta da- a 10% general sales tax!!)
