An explosive news report this week reveals that close associates of Turkish President Erdogan and officials of his AKP Party are funding and arming criminal gangs in Germany.
That's from leaks by German intelligence to several media outlets, who reported on the allegations.
ZDF reports that German intelligence wiretaps revealed AKP Party officials transferring money to leaders of the "Osmanen Germania" (Ottoman Germany) biker gang to purchase weapons and directing attacks on critics of Erdogan's increasingly tyrannical regime in Turkey among Germany's sizable Turkish population.

Turkey should no longer be a member of NATO. Germany now has cause to try to get them expelled. I doubt they have the courage to do that though.

Turkey never really left the 12th Century - they are a bit more modern than the Arabs. Their experiment in secularism reached only as far as various city limits.

We should not discount the Kemalists. They are not much better in some policy areas than Erdogan, but they are anti-Islamists.
Should they be sufficiently provoked, they can take Erdogan out of power.
Unfortunately most of the Kemalists have been purged from the Turkish military.

They top officers are still in Turkey. Erdogan is afraid of them.
The lower level of the Kemalist are still there in the military. I have had exchanges with some of them. They do not like Erdogan, but will not criticize him.
They headed the March from Ankara to Istanbul. There were 1 million people in the protest gathering at one point.
They can if they want, take Erdogan down.
