After Saturday night brutal gang rape of a young girl in Malmö, the police are now out with a message to the city's population: "Women should not be afraid". Reports SVT News Skåne on Saturday afternoon. However, in Malmö several women are still noticeably shaken.

Do native Swedes have a culturally expected way of acting when they get upset or angry? Do they tend to implode and become more still, vs exploding into a rage? I guess I’m not understanding why this invasion and ‘paving over’ of their civilized life style is being permitted. Is pessimism about the future a national trait?
