Ten Most Heinous Christmas Songs Ever
Victory Girls Blog ^ | 12/21/17 | Toni Williams

In a few days, the pain will stop. The pain, that is, of awful and most heinous Christmas songs. I already know that I am going to Hell. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that I was going to Hell because I didn’t support Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. My friends and I are renting a party bus.

We won’t be listening to Christmas Songs on the bus. They are headache inducing. Self-explanatory

I hereby propose that the following Christmas songs have achieved a level of heinousness that would cause my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to shove a dreidel directly in his brain. Jesus probably doesn’t mind the “Dreidel Song”, he is gonna get Adam Sandler for the “Hanukkah Song”, for sure. Sorry, I got off track there. Jesus celebrated Hanukkah and, my mind wandered away.

Whenever I hear it, I’m thinking

“Last Christmas I gave you AIDS.....”

Or, could be like Chris Rock in the famous (infamous?) all time greatest instructional Video: "How Not to get your ass kicked by the Police!"

"...First, Obey the Law! Laws were made for a reason...think of them as 'hints'! You heard people say "Man, I would't do that sh*t if I was you..."

The only thing more annoying about Springsteen is when he sings in that faux southern drawl.

Last Christmas by Wham - especially heinous when you realize he is singing it to a guy.

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer - well no duh.

Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney - I really like Paul McCartney, but I really hate this song.

Do They Know It’s Christmas Time - just...no...

War is Over by John Lennon - Horrible lyrics, catchy tune, absolutely cremated by Yoko Ono squawking.

Please, Daddy (Don’t Get Drunk on Christmas) by John Denver - Nothing says Happy Holidays like alcoholism.

Oh Holy Night by Christina Aguilera - One of my favorite holiday songs made to sound like the Walmart Christmas aisle looks on Christmas Eve. If you’ve been there, you know what I mean.

Now for my favorites. I am going mostly for albums here:

The John Rutter Christmas Album - Candlelight Carol is so awesome it gives me goose bumps.

Any of the Brian Setzer Christmas albums, but his first one is best.

Any of the Harry Connick Jr. Christmas albums, but his first one is best.

and my all time favorite Christmas album is...

The Carpenters’ Christmas Album

Perhaps the most heinous Christmas carol ever is "Dem Revolutionär Jesus zum Geburtstag" (to the revolutionary Jesus on his birthday) by Ernst Busch, the Red balladeer whose greatest hits include Stalin, Friend and Comrade (1949), Song of the [Socialist Unity] Party (East Germany's ruling party) (1950) and The Thaelmann Battalion (1938).

Busch's Christmas opus, which is set to a melody that sounds like an old Lutheran hymn (and probably is) is no longer on Youtube, but you can listen to a recitation here.

O Holy Night
Joy to the World (harmonies are FUN; I will also take the Creedence song just because)
Oh Come, Emmanuel or I Wonder as I Wander
No Eye Had Seen (Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith duet)

And I love Victory Girls, but I will fight them on “Mary, Did You Know?” At least the Kathy Mattea version. :)

Wonderful Christmas time is the worst!

Hard to believe it’s by one of the Beatles.it’s so simple and stipid.

If I have to listen to Santa Baby, I tolerate the Eartha Kitt version best. But I’ve spent too much time in retail hell to have any reaction to most Christmas songs beyond 1) scream and run or 2) scream and throw things.

Unfortunately the Brits don’t realize the extent of their doom.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The scorpion they allowed on their backs has already bitten & the venom is seeping through the culture/society/laws, etc. & doing it’s destructive work. I think those in Britain/Europe who have been invaded by the Muslim hordes are doomed unless some miracle wakes them up and I truly don’t see that happening, especially with the leadership they have (or don’t have is more like it). We have relatives in Germany - I don’t see any sort of a happy or even tolerable ending for them.

I never go to the malls or stores, so I rarely hear any of these songs, for which I am grateful. I do have a number of Christmas “albums”, or I can ask for Christmas songs on Amazon. Usually that consists of Christmas songs sung by Josh Groban or Frank Sinatra, among others.

Whoa - 114 posts and nobody mentioned my special "favorite" Jingle Bell Rock? Some on, "Jingle Bell time is a swell time"... It's the musical equivalent of syrup of ipecac.

And yeah, if Santa loved me he'd beat Bruce Springsteen on the throat with a ballbat for Christmas. Wait a minute, maybe he already did...

My recommendations for best seldom-heard Christmas song:

Puer Natus Est Nobis. Quite possibly the most beautiful Gregorian chant ever written.

Flos Regalis. About the queen’s dental hygiene. Actually, it’s a beautiful example of early polyphony.

Lullay Lullie. You have to go back about 700 years for the original version (good records were hard to find back then). Hauntingly beautiful.

We had a list like this in here a couple weeks ago. I definitely agree with Little Drummer Boy; it feels like some form of torture. Makes me wish for a bumpstock and return the rhythm right back on whoever recorded it.

Also, the worst political song ever is Do They Know It’s Christmas. It’s insulting. They are calling the listeners cold and racist. As if the listener should or world thank Gd people in Africa are poor and he is not.

The one that could lead to suicide because it is so effing DUMB is Paul McCartney’s Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time. It replaces waterboarding; it encourages depressed people to actually hang themselves.

I like Mariah Carey’s song. Last night a few thousand people sang it together at the kings game and it was fun.

Torme and Bob Wells wrote during the summer of 1945.

That is when you write Christmas songs.

Also when you do Christmas specials of what ever kind.

You have to do it then.

I was always working on the special Christmas flavors of Ice Cream in May and deciding how much spice we would need for the eggnog.

If you did not have all your ducks in a row by June you were LATE.

It did kind of take the magic out of things.

This year, to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

I don’t mind the actual song somehow, but you have to laugh at who is singing it. So I sing along rearranging the words for him. Someone special... the glory hole in stall number three instead of two...
