United States is Estados Unidos in Spanish. When a word is plural, the Spanish abbreviation is a double letter. So Estados Unidos, being two plural words, is not EU, but EEUU.

I’m in Colombia now...troops have been moved to the border by Santos...according to the news about 3 or 4 thousand. No one is spealing of war publicly. The Colombians do not have any hostility towards Venezuela....but along the border things are a bit spicy. ....while the Colombians can easily overthrow Venezuela keep in mind there are NK Cuban and Iranian troops there.
