My first guess what that this was a case of murder by those connected to Child Exploitation. My next thought was, maybe not. This was a man who was 62 y/o, had retired, and had already been involved in this sort of investigation for almost half of his life. If he was on someone’s hit list, there must have been plenty of times to get him since the 1980’s.
If I were to learn that he was JUST ABOUT TO GIVE TESTIMONY supporting prosecution of these Child Exploiters, that would change my opinion completely. Either way, I do not expect the actual cause and circumstance of his death to ever be fully known unless a witness pops up out of nowhere.

Stop talking nonsense. The only explanation is that pizzagate-affiliated CIA hitmen waited until his friends left the boat, then infiltrated the boat in a frogman operation and used blowguns to inject him with with an untraceable poison that mimics the effect of a heart attack, using darts made of ice that subsequently melted when his body fell in the water, leaving no trace of the crime!
