Ring-worm is not a matter of public health; it is a matter of personal hygiene. I contracted mine in the swamps of the Mekong Delta, where personal hygiene was impossible. It returns when life makes daily personal hygiene difficult. Soap and water is the best cure/preventative. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is displaying her ignorance, almost innocence, of life outside her upper-middle class upbringing, where personal hygiene is not a problem.

Yes and no. I was a full-blown tmoboy as a kid. Nothing made me happier than getting dirty head to toe playing outside. I contacted ringworm on several occasion, much to the utter dismay of my mother who made me scrub up every night. maybe a missed a spot? Maybe it transfered from me or my clothes to the bed before I took my bath? I AM sure cleanliness helps tremendously, but you can still get the stuff.
