No one loses a debate over anti-Semitism. Except Jews.
StarTribune.com ^ | 3/11/19 | Seth Mandel Special to the Washington Post

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just got a humbling lesson in the power of anti-Semitism: It can’t be bribed away with a plum subcommittee appointment or threatened out with a primary challenge. Watching the utter disaster that unfolded when congressional leaders suggested making a simple, full-throated condemnation of anti-Semitism, I tried to think of something less surprising. I couldn’t. This began bad for the Jews; it ended bad for the Jews; and in the middle was a whole heaping pile of bad for the Jews.

Last week, after freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., had made the latest in a series of anti-Semitic statements and her colleagues circled the wagons, Pelosi had essentially no choice other than to put forth a congressional resolution decrying the kind of rhetoric Omar has been spouting — that Jews are disloyal to America. Democrats rebelled. In caucus meetings, Pelosi was ignored. The party finally put forth an All Lives Matter resolution that was crafted to imply that white supremacist anti-Semitism was the reason they were doing this at all, by expanding the language to include condemnations of Islamophobia as well as hatred of African-Americans, Latinos, Hindus, Sikhs and LGBT people. Even for Washington, D.C., the cynicism was breathtaking.

My Jewish Great Grandpa (John) and his brother did the ‘Hike Across the Alps’ to get OUT of Jew-hating Germany. They came here LEGALLY through Ellis Island and settled in NYC first, then moved to Milwaukee, WI. GG John was a Baker, who met and married my GG Emma, also a Baker. They learned English and started the American Branch of our Family Tree.

I am eternally grateful!

It’s so AWESOME that all of these DECADES LATER members of the Socialist Democrat Party still hate me and mine. :(

The Jewish people are, indeed ... as the author says... pretty much powerless to stop the anti-Semitism.. especially if the House of Representatives won’t even expel a blatant repeat-offender like this new woman from Minnesota

if anyone wonders what she’s doing in Congress, its to spread racist and religious dissention and bigotry.. in order to further divide and thus weaken American society....
this is step 3 in the Moslem invasion and subjugation program for any nation they take over

now that Nancy Pelosi has seen to it that anti-Semitism and other kinds of bigotry are accepted Congressional behavior...
with zero tangible repercussions or punishments...

we can expect tons more of this filth....
straight from Congressional Hill....

Congress has expelled, excluded, reprimanded and censured elected members a couple dozen times...but now? Nothing...

Clean house and toss the woman OUT, Nancy! NOW! You’ve smeared Congress with shieit.....needlessly. Let Minnesota elect someone decent instead....clean this filthy stain from our government, Mrs. Pelosi!

indeed.
she needs to be expelled immediately, if only to clean up this filthy stain from Congress..... (it has plenty of other stains already, doesn’t need IslamoNazis crapping right from Capitol Hill!)

Expelling a member just doesn’t work. Her district would likely overwhelmingly reelect her to her seat. Plus, she’s a woman, plus she is a muslim, plus she is black, so she enjoys three levels of immunity. But she could be shunned by the democratic leadership, removed from committees—but they won’t do even that. This is a wedge that Republicans should exploit.

The Republicans will take Minnesota and Wisconsin for sure, and probably several more states, if the D’s permit this filthy bigoted IslamoNazi with the big mouth to stay in Congress...
her presence there is a HUGE bonus for the R party...for sure!
BUT...the R’s have to campaign against her bigotry and point out how the Pelosi/DNC Machine protects and enables it to continue

in other words, real R candidates ....NOT more Romney/McShame “throw the election” types!!!!!!!!

....

I am grateful for people like you on FR. Your homepage is dazzling, by the way. You might add stuff like the comments you just made.

I often have to remember how good it is that my precious wife’s grandparents and parents were here and not in Europe in WWII (her father joined the Army here, though and went there to fight like my father did in the Pacific) so she could be born here like me after the war ended and here to marry me.

Millions were not out of Europe in time and are gone. May their memories be for a blessing.

We the 24%W Trump voter Jews have to fight the evil trend today.

You are right.

She has the race card, Muslim card and woman card. From a marked deck (by the Official Privilege Department of the Democrat Party). We have to fold on expelling them.

So keep her and Tlaib and AOC around like a long term nail fungus-—to be quoted and fought by the GOP proudly. Good for that purpose (like Pelosi and Maxine) to make the Dems look bad.

The Republicans are missing a bet here of rubbing the Democrats nose in it. While they cannot bring their own resolution to the house floor, condemning *just* antisemitism, they can create their own caucus resolution and send a copy to both the senate and President Trump.

Condemning *just* antisemitism. With no weasel words or qualifications, and expressive support for Israel, “In the face of those who would destroy Israel and slaughter its people.”

And after making their caucus resolution known, they should ask any Democrats who wish to stand against antisemitism to sign on to their resolution.

Imagine the glee if they could get more signatories than a majority of the house!

To a fellow Wisconsinite- born and raised in Milwaukee. I grew up in a Jewish community: most of my classmates were Jewish. I never thought anything about it; we celebrated Christmas and Hanukkah. I had nothing but profound respect for the Jewish people, to this day.

I grew up in Milwaukee, too. West Allis - company town for Allis-Chalmers where both of my Grandpas and my Dad worked. Mom was a secretary there too when I was little, and Grandma took care of me during the day.

All of my Uncles were Cops, Firemen or brewers for Miller Beer. I can’t imagine having a more wonderful childhood. I sure wish more kids had that these days, instead of all the Socialist cr@p the left is force-feeding them. :(
